Started off with a 240 gallon reef tank in my basement here in Atlanta. Fell in love with the hobby and so I decided to put a 1000 gallon in my next house currently being built. The tank is on the second level so the architect and engineer designed the floor trusses 24"under and around the tank. He overdid it a bit making it able to handle 25,000 pounds but I guess its better to be safe than sorry. MRC built my tank and I had it shipped to my house in Orange Beach, AL. I wasn't there to get pictures of the crane raising it up to second level but my builder face timed me while it was going in. The series of this blog may take a while. Since I won't be living in this house until I retire, all the fish, plumbing, lights, and etc won't come till later. I would like to get opinions though of what other people have used with equipment on a tank this size. The tank is 118"x 44"x 48" and viewable on three sides and from 2 different rooms. There is three feet from top of tank to the housing for the lights. There will be angels so I will have to adjust my preferences for corals.
