i have sps tank my salinity is 1.024 shoould i rise it ot 1.026 or what ??

in case that i should rise it ?what is the best way so the corals don shock and how ?
i use reef crystal salt

I shoot for 1.026-1.025. Raising it that much won't matter much. If you want to do it slowly just add new salt water to your top off

It's fine at 1.024. It's within range. If your tank is going well don't mess with it is the best advice. Mine has ranged from 1.023 to 1.025 with no major issues.

to increase the salinity the best way is to just top off with salt water instead of RO water and check the salinity a couple times a day till it is where you want it. Then go back to your normal top off routine.

In my small tank I find salinity to be very important due to it affecting the big three. I keep my tank at 1.026 with io which gives me 420cal and 10alk. This along with dosing pumps allows my tank to run at a nice 400ish cal and 8.3alk. If my salinity slips either direction my numbers swing which is no good for sps. I say try to find a balance with your salt and suPpliments at a given salinity then cheat it up or down to get u where u want to be then get a good ato to keep it there along with a calibrated refractometer and calibration solution so u know you're adding the right salinity at water change time. Good luck and it's vital that whatever number u decide on that u keep it there without trying to chase numbers.

Also keep in mind where you buy your coral and fish from. I like to test the water when I get new stuff so I know how long to acclimate it. If u get stuff from the same place often then keep your tank closer to their numbers to raise your success rate with new additions. Once the tank is full then u can shift numbers to where u want them to be slowly.
