1 1/2" Slip Bulkhead fitting (split type)

I was wondering what exactly this does, 1 1/2" Slip Bulkhead fitting (split type). I know it may be a stupid question, but it 2:00 in the morning and that is what I am.

do they split the water flow, allowing you to hook up 2 seperate hoses(i.e.: one drain house to the sump and another to the skimmer).

I've seen these as well and was wondering the same thing. I think you can use them to plumb an in a airline. For example if you were makeing a skimmer. I'm just guessing though.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't know what that does, I was expecting to be called stupid for not knowing exactly what it does. But what you said seeems t make a lot of sense, that is probably what it's for. thanks

Looks to me like a way to have an overflow and a return plumbed through the same hole. Although it would probably need to be in a Calfo style overflow as I don't know where you would get a pipe to fit in the overflow section of the bulkhead for a durso. Interested to see if they have those in larger sizes as I would like to use the closed loop holes I have to return into a spray bar under my rockwork, without having to drill more holes.

Yeah looks like its made to be a overflow and return threw 1 fitting.
