1.5" Drain from Durso ?

I have a couple of questions regarding flow from my drain into the sump and placement of the drain plumbing in the sump. First, does anyone know how to calculate gph from a 1.5" drain using a durso standpipe? Secondly, should the drain plumbing end up below the water line in the sump or above it?

Thanks,
Tom

When you add the durso, the water level is going to be about the middle of the top of durso,(at elbow) so wherever you put that elbow is where the water will spill.
So usually you have a dedicated pipe, then the coupling, then elbow.
Don't glue the coupling so you can adjust to the height you want by making the coupling shorter or taller.

Thanks for the comment, but I understand how the Durso works. I was wondering how much flow I can expect into my sump through a 1.5" Durso and then again, the typical placement of the drain in the sump - above the water line, well below it, at the water line, etc..

Thanks

I personally have the drain go to the top and through a filter sock.
But I'm sure there's lots of other ways as good or better.
I just make sure to leave room for powerfailure flood back to sump.

Generally you want the drain at about the water line in the sump. Without mods....too low=bubbling sounds. Too high=splashing sounds. Again, mods can fix these issues. I think the RC homepage has a drain calc that will tell you the max flow down a 1.5" drain.
