Wow, sorry to see that Tj. I thought acrylic once melted together was suppose to be a solid piece. Sorry to see that happen.

OK here's the story...

I just recently moved back to PA as most of you know. Anyway, I moved everything back on Friday including the tank. However, I left the tank wrapped in blankets in the back seat of my car, because I was too nervous about someone bumping it or scratching it.

Well today I got the stand set into place, and decided to put the tank on the stand to see what it looked like. So I got the tank out of the car, brought it into the house, and set it on the top corner of the couch... straddling the V (arm and back of couch) so it was stable. Then I went back to the car, grabbed the blankets, and put them on the floor before I set the tank on the floor.

I turn around to pick up the tank, and see it wobble... I lunge towards it, and I swear to gawd the sucker sped its fall up. Anyway, the ending...

It fell 2 feet onto the floor, landing directly on the corner and blew apart all the seams, cracked the bottom, and cracked the overflow.

Absolutely ridiculous.

If the tank would have landed on a pane or flat side, it probably would've been fine.

But it had a 2' drop directly onto a corner... I don't think there's much that could've saved it.

you know, after reading your thread a few times i couldn't understand how murphy had anything to do with it< thinking our fellow reefer murphy> until i realized it was a link to explain it. man that was a sweet tank, no possible way of fixing it?
