1 Foxface question (pics), 1 funny foxface story

First my question. In my gallery (2nd pic) is a pic of the fins of the foxface. I'm not too concerned because everything else looks great but I just want to make sure the small white spots on his fins aren't the begining of Ick, etc... I tried to get the best photo I could for the size, etc...

2nd thing.
Today my wife came in and the Foxface was stuck to the bottom of the powerhead almost like he liked it. She had to get a spatula to get him of. Now he has a ring on him. (1st pic) Kindof funny, as long as it goes away!

Yes I would say that is Ich but I would not worry about it. Is it eating?

He has been eating a bit of flakes and some algae off the rock. It's a little different than freshwater so I'm not sure what to do. What should I watch for and what should I do if it progresses.

I would go to a LFS and get you some Metronidazole and start mixing that with your food and just watch to see if it gets worse.
If it progresses you could set up a hospital tank and treat it in there.

Garlic or and cleaner shrimp. Did you acclimate slowly?

I did acclimate it slowly. What kind of garlic, fresh or minced and should it only go to that fish or can I just put it in there for the other fish also?

Can the Metronidazole be used with inverts?

Or, I have that new
Nano Cube, should I use that as a hospital tank now and treat it in there or do you think it will be ok in the big tank. It's only on those side fins. The rest of him looks great!

The fish looks very hardy, healthy, and bright. We noticed just a few white spots on the fins yesterday. There are numerous suggestions above, what would everyone recommend?

I would leave him in your tank. If you want go get a cleaner shrimp that med is invert safe I use it when I see anything on my fish for the most part, it could be what Mark said. It is hard to tell but those two will work on both.

It could be Lymphocystis. thats what it looks like to me, pull him out do a freshwater dip & if that does not work, may sound cruel, but if it is
Lymphocystis, take a pair of siccors & cut the fins off where the disease is & they will grow back disease free within a few weeks.

I would not cut the fins, I would just do water changes and keep your water clean, run carbon and such and feed him.

i used fresh garlic i found a shot glass and put a clove in there then used the end of a screw driver (the handle end) and push on the clove till its was all soupy add a touch of ro water. I have a large syringe that I place my fish food in then put the tip in the glass and draw up a bit of garlic water. Then squirt it into the tank.

The stuff I feed my fish up until tonight was the formula one but I switched to formula two from advice. It actually has 2% garlic added!

I use Natures Herb garlic extract you get at health food stores. If you buy the minced garlic jars at the grocery store they are LOADED with phosphates!!! Believe me I know. After I fed a ton of it over months I read the label.

Sure but it takes thousands of cloves to make a small bottle of extract.
