1 inch thick acrylic and tunze will it work??

I have a tank being built with 1 inch acrylic most sites say 3/4 glass is max thickness that vortechs and tunzes will work with. Qusetion , has anyone tried to use them on 1 inch?? if so was there any problems?? My tank is only 28x28x20 all 1 inch and I have access to some tunze 6100s not sure if I can turn them down enough to use with out making a sand storm or if they will even work on the 1 inch acrylic.

The only holder we have that will work will be either an old 6100 with the rail holder and an extension. Or, a new Stream 2 pump with the larger 6205.500 magnet holder, these are suitable up to 1"
