the install was a piece of cake, I had a roofer cut the holes in the roof and install the roof flange [for insurance compliance] I did the rest of it, the entire install took about 4 hours. Cost about $1,100 plus the domes and tubes come with a 10 year warranty.

amazing tank !! i really wanted to do sunlight , and even bought 4 18" tubes . but after thinking about it and where im going to do it i ditch the idea

that said . if anyone is looking to do this i have 4 solar tubes in the for sale section {just look at my threads startedto find it}

Amazing! Do you have problems with lumens degradation? It sure doesn't look like it?

Thank you! None that I have seen, if the dome or tubes discolor or oxidize they have a 10 year replacement warranty

Thank you! maybe try a smaller system first.

Beautiful tank. The best part is nobody will argue with you about the light being the right spectrum. :)

Thank you! lol I still do.

I am sure this is an amazing tank to see in person. I really prefer natural light over the blue stuff people put on their tanks.

So do I, I feel like I'm snorkeling in my living room all the time.

Because of this, I have been looking at natural lit reefs and I have 100% converted. I'm moving in a few months and this will be the next tank upgrade....thanks so much for the inspiration! Planning starts tomorrow!

Do the damsels give you any trouble? I have wanted a few damsels for a few years now... but never did because of their bad reputation.

In larger groups they seem to do well, I haven't had any problems with them.

Thats great, if I can be of help during the planning stages let me know.

This is amazing. Is there a build thread I may have missed?

Thank you! Here is my build thread.

WoW! that's awesome.

Thank you!

/sigh

I'm in the process of looking to "upgrade" to a house, from a condo, at least partially so I can fulfill my reef desires.

NOW I'm gonna have to change states, too!

That tank is incredible, and as I'm planning on a future home remodel, this has certainly started some gears turning.

But being in the SF Bay Area, the shorter winter days might be a problem. I assume down in Tampa it's not an issue?

We moved from Long Island, NY property taxes were crazy, the cost of electric and home heating oil were getting out of hand.

Property taxes are low in Florida plus no state income taxes, and free sun all year.

I had noticeable growth in the tank during December and January so the winter days don't seem to be a problem. You could always supplement additional lighting during the winter months. Good luck with your upgrade, keep us posted.
