$10,000.oo fish!!

At that price that fish needs to not only be immortal, it has to take care of water changes and cut and mount any frags needed in the tank.

I guess nobody read my post... oh well, it's not like I live in the country in question or anything...

f you notice though they are also selling 2 skunk cleaners for 220.00 now that is outragious

Paying people to risk their lives on rebreathers to go and collect shrimp at a not inconsiderable amount of feet is outrageous? :) we don't have the luxury of being able to buy invertebrates from where shallow colonies exist, all of ours occur well below where traditional diving can safely get to and because of it we pay for it. It's not really great but you must understand it is for a reason.

Maybe they should breed them... Shrimp are very easy. Then they won't be disturbing the reef to take them off it...

The licenses required for aquaculture here are what is obscene, the red tape you've gotta go through to commercially breed anything is not worth the effort to be perfectly honest.

You'd think it would be easier, since the reefs are in danger and protected...
Just sad that it's cheaper to raid the reef

There's licences and stuff involved with collecting off the reefs and it's all done in a very controlled fashion, but because we're such a small population relative to the reef it makes very little impact. I mean, I can understand why there's such strict control - if things end up in the wild after being aquacultured they could have mutated pathogens that would cause major damage... but it doesn't stop it being frustrating as hell.
