$10 nemo's at Petco in BG

I hate to bash kids but it's the experience issue. I doubt any of the places are going to hire one of us PT (or FT for that matter), and actually pay for the experience level... they couldn't afford me and I'm no expert, but really to fix that problem that's what needs to happen. That's why generally the places where the owner is present are less risky...
OK I'm getting off the soap box...

BTW... It has only been 1 day, and the false perc I bought at Petco yesterday has made its home in my BTA!!!! I am so excited. I came home this evening to see him looking out at me.

:D I am so excited.

Yeah, they had emerald crabs for $4.99. I was going to buy 2 of them until I saw the Lion. I guess I'll go to Gary's and pay $9.99 each. Yes, those are the current prices. I was at PSP today and at Gary's on Thursday.

Congrats! I need to get a BTA as soon as my tank is more established. I think I can have one now that I got my MH light on there. My percs are doing great. Eating like piggies.

One of mine looks a little thin... both are eating well. The hawk I got is a cool fish and eating like a pig too... very active:cool:

man good luck finding a decent BTA around here anymore, it's been slim pickins last few times I was out, unless you want brown, bleached, or WAY too small to host a clown. I wanted a green BTA, but no one carries them anymore, I see roses now but no green, when I got my rose they were super hard to find and greens were everywhere, seems like whatever I want is always a pain to find

I'm keeping my eyes open for one too... My wife really likes Dwayne's green one...

Tim if you want a large one like mine, I think Bill is willing to get rid of his. He also has a smaller one that is bleached but seems to be making a comeback. Just let me know and I will get in touch with him.

How big is big? as soon as the 90 is up I'd be interested in 1 or both...:D

I haven't seen yours expanded for a while...

I would be interested too.

If mine ever splits, I will be sure to let you all know. It is green in actinics and mostly brown in 10k light.

Hey, I wouldn't mind the small one, after my trip.

He said he will sell it. Just make an offer and I'll let him know.

Slander, libel, sponsorship or not... like I said it looks as if a lot of us have been there, shopped there, shop there, whatever... I think the name calling makes us look bad. Personally having visited many LFSs through the years and the times I've been to Petco their stuff isn't a whole lot worse (if at all) than PSP, AA, Jacks (especially the times I've been there), etc... I stopped at the Sweet Feed Co. a month or so ago and their tanks were horrid. What's the difference? Should we call them the Fatal Feed Co.?
Obviously they are big business when it comes to pets and it would be great if they had the most experienced people in the world on staff. I don't believe it's a likely senario unless you patronize only the small specialty guys. The last time I was at Gary's the kids working didn't know _ _ _ _ from shinola either does that make Gary's a bad place to go?
I didn't mean to start an uproar or offend anyone but I think the name calling is better left for the kids...

Tim,

If NORA is looking for sponsorship from LFS I've already looked into this for TRAC. There are some main issues you will need first which is for a LFS sponsorship you will need to show your a serious organization which means you will have to offically be a Non-Profit Org. In-order to do that you will need to fill out a bunch of paper work with the state and get a By-Law's or Constitution in place specifying what your Organization will do. When the state and federal government go to approve your Non-Profit they will do research on it researching especially the Forum here on Reef Central not to mention your website forums. If there's anything questionable to where they might think your not a serious organization they will deny you. So if your seriously thinking about going this way everyone would have to clean up their content on the forums and you should have the forums where your ripping on LFS and other people and organizations removed. I can fill you guys in more from what I've learned from trying to set up TRAC as a Non-Profit if you're thinking about going this route.

I've set up several non-profits in my life. One of which was in St. Petersburg Russia and dealt with life or death issues and as far as I'm aware they didn't research any forums. How can they honestly say that each person that posts in these forums (nora topic) is a member? They have no way of knowing this. It isn't as hard as you make it sound.

I would like to offer my services if anyone wants them.

Oh and BTW my fish are doing very very very well. They are little piggies!!

This is the response I got was that if the Forum for the Club and everyone talking on it is looking out for Number One rather then the community then they don't issue Non-Profit. I have talked to a few reef clubs two of them which were turned down when they researched them and read their reef central post. It has already happened. Just be forwarned.

Take a look at most of the club forums here on RC. You see the same stuff on the non profit ones that you see here. I wouldn't even want to be a part of a club that only has a few posts a month in the forums. What clubs did you speak with that had this problem? I would like to know so I can talk to them about it.

I guess I'm not going to argue with you, but there is NO way they can know who are members to gauge who is serious vs. who is not. This site has millions of posts. Let me go through them all if they want. To me this appears to be an attempt at censorship.
