100 gallon RubberMaid stock tanks for sump/refugium

Do they have any drains or other holes cut in them?

They each have a built-in threaded bulkhead fitting one one side, flush with the bottom, that comes with the original threaded plug. I have seen them replaced with standpipes or other connecting plumbing.

sizes and depth? may be intrested

Size: 100 gallons.

Dimensions: 25"high x 52"long x 31" wide, rounded corners.

There is a built in base that helps insulate the tank so it can be placed directly on to floor if desired.

I would be interested in 1 or both of them but if it is the same as this picture they are only $67 brand new at TRACTOR SUPPLY COMPANY

Looks like them to me, guess I will be headed there for the wifes pond

If it's close to you, you might give TSP a try. Your luck may be better than mine. I went there a dozen times and the Rubbermaid 100 was always out of stock. They had another brand of 100 gallon stock tank in stock for about $45, but it had a strong burnt rubber smell and the Rubbermaid is odorless. For your purpose as a pond outside, it might work. It is shorter and rounder, so it would have more surface area and look more pond-like. The odor is supposed to be safe, but they couldn't convince me to try it.

I had some as my tanks in the garage and removed then and added a 300 rubbermaid stock tank in place of them and used one of the 100s for the sump. They work great!!

The one in ahmerst has 5 different sizes in stock, 50,100, 150 and 300 round
Just got one the other day.

I went to the one in Brunswick. They closed, so there aren't any of them near here any more. If I had wanted this for a pond, I would have considered the cheap offbrand version. It sounds like the one near you has a much larger inventory so they probably carry the off brand stuff too. It would have looked much nicer as a pond, and being outside, the rubber smell should go away. It was meant to hold water for horses, so hopefully it was just unpleasant, not harmful.

I don't think anyone is talking about the cheap off brands though Dan, the rubber made one is cheap enough IMO

What I am saying is the cheap off brand one would make a cooler pond. It would look better as a pond than the Rubbermaid. It's not the price difference, but that it is shallower and has more surface area, and is more rounded with no ribbing to detract from the pond "look".

We wanted the Rubbemaid as a pond because of the limited area we have to build one, and it would be half in and out of the ground and landscaping built up around the exposed area, we want the depth the rubbermaid offers, my point in this thread was that $60 used vs $67 new is a no brainer

$60 like new vs. $67 + tax IS a nobrainer. These were made before Rubbermaid was bought out, so they will probably still look like new when the current new product has fallen apart. If you have limited area, the Rubbermaid 100 would be a good choice.

My Dad used these for our horses. This is a great product. We've since sold our horses to the neighbors and he uses them to support our SW setups (water hold, acclimation tank, etc.).

Hey... if you wanna save 10 bucks, or if they don't sell these really close to you, this will be a good way to get ahold of the product.
