here in the states, for a captive clone of a healthy, attractive looking magnifica, a few hundred would be fair. but perhaps in canada they really are extremely difficult to acquire, which would justify such a steep price.

It's a mag! ... He thinks it worth it because its ALIVE, most don't survive long.

I live in Canada, so can't get an anemone from liveaquaria.

Talk to a reputable store they can order you one. trust me when I say these aren't worth all that much. Last one I saw in a shop was about a foot across and only $125.

Find a store willing to tag it onto their next fish/coral order and i'm sure you can get a good deal!

Just an FYI I paid $120 US for my Mag thats about 14" or more fully expanded. I would offer $100 and see what he says.

I think its a nice Mag... Not at all worth $1000... Not entirely too impressed. If I were to sell mine, that looks exactly like that one, I'd ask between $150-200... But I'm somewhat of a hoarder, so I wouldn't sell one anyhow...

Ask him if it includes the specimen bag, water and box to transport. He's nuts if he thinks he'll get a grand for that.

I will sell you my red base mag for $500... JK. Yeah that guy is full of it. $1000 for the mag is redicolous... I got my mag for less than $50 at petco. If you must want it double ck the mag for any signs of healthiness then offer him $100 Max would be $200 if one really must have one. Good luck keep us post...

I feel that people can charge whatever they want for anything they have for sale. But with that, I also feel that other people can make fun of the outrageous prices they are asking. :beer:
