I would do a short box external overflow on the back of the tank instead of a full length internal. Would make the overflow box easier to keep clean, easier to get at plumbing and more room in the tank itself. You definitely have the space for it ....

Preparation of Rocks

Decided to use Dry Rock this time round instead of live rock for the fear of pets and it is easier to set it in place before water go in. However i will have to live with the " ugly look " until the rock mature .

I " Cook" all the rock with two round of RO/DI water with a little bit of lanthanum chloride in a big tube to help remove any residue or phosphate that might be present in the rock.

Frag Tank racking system

I will be using aluminium profile racking system for both the main tank and frag tank racking.

I found this useful free online software which enable user to design their own profile and it is so easy to use, so might as well share it here ( http://www.framexper...igner/download/ ) . The size which will be used will be 80/40 aluminium profile.

The outer wall dimension detail .

What a way to start the new year, i just found out few day ago my reno contractor have not follow the dimension we give and the hole on the wall which was smaller at 1830 mm . So my tank could be able to slot in ..

He still claim that i gave him the wrong dimension earlier, lesson learnt always have black & white drawing to your reno contractor.
So now, they have to adjust the wall again.

The other side of the wall will be a glass wall / sliding door .

Awesome concept! What are you going to use to reduce moisture in your fish room? I like the idea of a glass wall and sliding door, but, with too much moisture in that room you would see condensation constantly.

Do you have an ERV or HRV in the house?

+1 on making the overflow external versus internal. Friend has a coast to coast internal and it creates a lot of shade.

Great idea, I occasionally work on a mini version of a tank like this, 36"x18"x30" with 4" popping out of the wall. It looks really cool. You won't have any issues with lighting the bottom with new led lights, they have great penetration, but have more shadow than t5 or MH. I don't think this will be an issue for you, just place the front set of lights as far forward as possible. My biggest concern with the dream box design is the top. With the top glued on top of the sides when a skimmer overflows it will just roll off the edges onto the floor. I would just recess the top down so it sits on the baffles and the sides make a 1/4-1/2" lip to contain such spills. A little water on the floor can be a non issue but a lot creates a lot of damage. If you integrate a floor drain into the sump area that's great, but it could lead to a problem left un knowticed by a tank sitter. This lost water is replaced by the top off and if you don't realize the problem you can crash your salinity and kill the tank in a few days. Skimmers overflowwing is almost inevitable at some point. Mess and potential tank crash can be avoided with a simple lip on the sump.

Given what your investing into this tank I would just cover the walls And ceiling of the fish room with FRP, fiber reinforced plastic. It's sold in 4x8 sheets and is about 1/16" thick, from most lows and maybe home depot, about $30 a sheet. It's glued onto the walls and is basicaly impervious to water, used in commercial kitchens and such.

There will be a humidifier controller attached to my exhaust fan which should take care of this i hope .

For my new setup, I will be using two unit of the Deltec SC 2560 internal skimmer . I have one unit running on my old tank so getting one more should be sufficient since each unit is able to handle up to ( 500 gal ) 2000 litres .

I always like to have an oversized skimmer but unfortunately the current budget doesn't allow so ... Maybe at a later stage.
