Just wanting to get some input on a fuge for my 1000 gallon system. I am looking to add biodiversity with critters and some nutrient export. Fuge measures 36x30x31.

Thanks, that cryptic area is interesting. I was planning a 3ft light over the tank and sponge usually grow in darker areas.

Yeah, youre supposed to paint the exterior section black, and keep it shaded as much as possible. Unless you wanted a 24" light, it wont work, lol.

Well, here is what I am thinking but am open to other suggestions:

4-5" DSB of sugar-sized aragonite sand from Caribsea.

Several 3-4" pieces of liverock from LFS.

Various macroalgae from Inland Aquatics and IPSF.com

Detritivore kits from Inland Aquatics and IPSF.com

5-6 bulb T5 39w daylight bulbs over tank

One section of the fuge will be dedicated to growing RBTA anemones for store credit towards foods, etc.

No fish or predator's at all in this display of roughly 145 gallons.

Flow will be about 4-5x/hour with an Oceanrunner 3500 feed pump.

Thoughts?
