how do you keep the sand so white?

Great setup, i thought of going with a 10 Gallon but i am obviously not as experienced as you are.
Any suprises with a 10 gallon that you may not have experienced with a tank of another size?

all i do to this tank is a 2g water change each week and top off with kalkwasser. i am not that experienced either.

What color temp bulbs did you get when you bought the lights? Or recommendation? I have got to upgrade lighting soon. I just moved up to a ten gallon from 5.5 and my 28 watt coralife pc just ain't gonna cut it.

i got a 14k and actinic. the daylight bulbs from fish need it are off on the color temp, 14k is like 10k, 20k is like 14k. about 4 months later i got uvl indigo sun and uvl 454.

how do you keep the sand so white?

that mushroom is about 3.5" across if you are talking about the red one, if you are talking about the green one it is about 4" across, i have another one in my other tank and it is 5-6" across!!!
i do nothing to my sand, it is sugar sand so it should be a lot dirtier but my clown fish likes making sand storms so i guess that helps keep it clean!

i got my light from fishneedit.com its the 24" fixture.

Very nice tank!! What is the name of the palythoas above?? They look like purple deaths but red and black instead?

thank you. they are purple deaths, i just got them today they were high up under a 150 HQI. they should purple up soon.
