It's not too bad, i just do a 15-20% water change every week and top off with freshwater daily. I also feed my fish and corals at least every other day (probably too much, but they are fun to feed). I am not supplimenting at all at the moment cause my testing is limited and i don't really want to go adding things i am not testing for.

god damn bucknell. im a kansas fan by the way.

That was the most insane game i have ever watched... Never expected us to win. I have been to all the home games the last couple years and i can't wait for this season's home opener against wake forest!

I noticed you have the surface skimmer well below the water line in this tank? Any reason why it isn't at the top of the water where was designed for? Just curious as I have one the works great and it is right at the surface of the water.

Thanks,.
Rich

Mine tends to cause some microbubbles so i lowered it to take the pics. It really does keep the surface nice and clear though.

I have the same skimmer too but on my Aquaclear 110, the nozzle that fits over the intake tube doesn't cover up the intake grating all the way as I'd like. How'd you get yours to do that?

If i remember correctly i had to use some force to get it to go on. just be careful not to crack the intake. The black plastic is a little flexible so just work it onto the intake a little bit at a time.

Ask and you shall recieve, here are some pictures of the zoas ( and a couple other things) taken with the better camera i have access to at home:
these are the first coral i got, they have more than doubled in number of polyps since this pic:

these are also only opening like halfway:

These haven't been opening lately so i am kinda worried, they have a really nice neon green rim.

my acan:

These have also grown like 5 more polyps:

Thanks, I just wish all the zoas were opening. Half of them are always open, a couple open sometimes and there a couple that are almost always closed now. Everything else is fine, even the free acro frag i got has all its polyps out. Any ideas?

I forgot to say that most of those closeup pics were taken during my battle with cyano which is why the tank looks like crap. I dosed chemiclean a month and a half ago and haven't had a problem since.

well for you with dorm reefs your biggest pain in the *** will be the breaks. i know i had to move mine home during x mas break since they would not let me in to the dorms over break. during thanks giving i lost my anenome which sucked. over spring break i found somebody who worked at CSU maintinence who was a part of our local reef club so over spring break he fed the fish and topped off the tank

Sorry but I am pretty sure it ended last week. It was like $1 per gallon on tank between 20 and 50 gallons. You really had to fight to get the discounts on the oceanics but they were scanning as part of the sale so stores were forced to honor the prices.
