10g Species Tank Options

After several years out of the hobby, I've decided that this year I am going to set up a desktop AIO tank. I am looking at the IM Nuvo Fusion 10 gallon with dimensions of 12x15X13.

The stocking plan for it is a single fish--though what fish that will be has yet to be determined. I'd like to do a dottyback or basslet and take advantage of the fact that it is a single specimen tank to maintain one of the more aggressive species, such as the Oblique Lined or Dilectis dottybacks. Another possibility is a Candy Basslet. Would any of those options work in the tank?

Any suggestions?

You could also do 2 clown gobies if you'd like. But I would do a possum wrasse if you wanted something different.

Microfish!!!
I have a 20g with 12 spp. that include:
white capped goby
grissingeri gobies
multiple trimma spp.
multiple eviota spp.
Bryaninops natans
blue stripe pipefish

and for inverts, I have:
pistol shrimp (with white capped goby)
sexy shrimp
Lima shrimp (I've seen it twice)
and snails...

amazing fun to watch them!
I've just switched out from a 10g Nuvo Fusion, I just have more livestock now.

I would advise against just one single fish - I would at least do a pair.
A pair of the small shrimp gobies (high fin, yasha, dracula) with a pistol shrimp (pair) would be an interesting combo for a nano tank.

A small group of Catalina and Zebra gobies would also be nice and you wouldn't need a heater.

Of the dottybacks a pair of P. fridmani would probably work (I have a pair in a 10g QT and no issues)

The micro gobies above are also excellent choices.

I don't know about the pygmy wrasse. Mine swims the entirety of my 65 gallon every minute or two. I would feel bad putting him in a 10 gallon. I say get a small goby, a shrimp, and a firefish.

Read about the pygmy wrasses, they're nothing like normal wrasses and for this reason they are recommended for a 10 gal tank. Read the links I posted and you will learn about them.

I would actually reccomend a mantis shrimp for this size tank. I feel bad about Qt'ing fish in a 10 gal for 5 weeks. Living it's life out in one....

Read up in the mantis shrimp forum, people there are absoultely crazy about their shrimps. They're pretty cool!
