10th Anniversary Midwest marine Conference

The 10th annual MidWest Marine Conference will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2008 at Weber's Inn in Ann Arbor Michigan. This is our 10th anniversary of putting on this event and we are hoping to make it the best one yet. Stay tuned for future announcements.

The Speakers include

• Bruce Carleson - Curator: Atlanta Aquarium
• Dr Frank Marini - Bangaii Cardinal Fish
• Steven Pro - Marine Fish Expert, Master Experimenter

Tickets include all speaker session, a fabulous lunch buffet, and access to the largest marine aquaria raffle in the state.


Friday Night Workshops
This year in celebration of our 10th anniversary we will be doing a Friday Night Workshop for:
- Aragocrete rock making
- Photography
- Coral Fragging

Tickets to the Workshops can be purchased separately and you do not have to attend the Conference to attend the Workshops. Attendees have the option of purchasing a attendance only ticket or a take home ticket that will allow them to take home a their own rock and a frag.
Space is however limited so please purchase your tickets early.

Friday Workshop Update

The Workshops will start around 6pm and run till about 8pm. Each workshop should run about 35-45 minutes give or take. There may be some over lapping but we will try to complete one before starting the next. I will post a schedule of what order the workshops will run as we get closer to the conference.

I've had a few people ask so I will clarify how the tickets work. You do not have to buy tickets to each workshop. Your ticket allows you to attend any or all of the workshops that will be running. I understand that not everyone will be interested in every workshop so you may attend which ever ones you are interested in. Finally, you do not have to attend the conference to attend the workshops and vis versa.


There are two types of tickets for the workshops.
1) With an Attendance-Only Ticket you can attend and participate in the workshops but you will not be able to take anything you cut or created with you. The take home ticket will let you take home both a rock AND a frag. Anything created or clipped will instead be placed in the raffle on Saturday. Attendance tickets are $5 per person

2) With a Take-Home Ticket you will be able to attend all the workshops and participate just as with the attendance only ticket. However any rock you create or frag you clip will be yours to take home with you. The price for Take home Tickets are $10


The cost for the tickets is simply to cover the cost of renting the extra room and materials.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the size of the room we can only accept the first 20 people. Space is very limited to attend these workshops. If you are considering attending I highly suggest you purchase tickets as early as possible.
