I have a 120 with dual overflow and has two 1" inch bulkhead on each overflow (total 4) . How would reefer normally set this up? I read here in RC reefer use 3 drain (2 full siphon, 1 emergency 1 return or 2 siphon, 2 emergency and return over the tank, some says combine both overflow by connecting a pipe down below the overflow and make it a beananimal setup (1 full siphon, 1 open pipe and 1 emergency.) So how do you do yours and how succesful are you?..i appreciate in suggestions..thanks

If it was mine, I'd use them all for overflows, and put the return over the back, unless it's visually ugly to you . I've got (4) 1" overflows, and after years of use, the tube worms have clogged every one of them. If I was to do it over again, I'd plumb in a way to run vinegar through it to a bucket, with ease, to get rid of the tube worms that clog it after years of use. It's kind of a pain to do it. Flip side, most don't stay in long enough for them to be an issue, so i guess it's dependent on the individual.

For me, I'd do:
1 emergency, only used if the others clog, about 1/4" above the normal level. Normally dry.
2 valved, taking most the water.
1 no valve, takes a small trickle, enough to be quite.

Many was to reef, have fun!

I have a 120 Tech Tank with same design and i hard plumbed it with sch 80 unions and ball valves through out, so it can come apart and be cleaned. I plumbed it with 2 drains- 1 emergency and 1 with a ball and gate valve and two returns. I would be interested in redoing it to make it ubber quiet and having 3 drains and one return, but the fans on my lights are louder than anything on my system anyway.
