120 gal Seahorse tank

I have a corner quarter cylinder tank that is 36 x 36 x 30 high and was looking to stock about 10 or 12 erectus along with a clean up crew. My question is regarding the aquascaping of the tank. I plan on having live rock and artificial branching acroporas so the seahorses have some hitching posts, but was wondering if I need macro algae and if you guys can give me some design ideas for the live rock. There is no rush, I plan on having the clean up crew in the tank for approximately a year to let my tank mature. My tank looks like a V shape with a bowfront, so I'm really excited to see some of your opinions.....Thanks, Anthony

Keep in mind that you'll have to clean anything artificial you add to the tank. Personally, I prefer live macro if nothing else. It provides hitching as well as hunting areas for the SH. It also aids in water quality via nutrient transport, and looks nice.

I like to use a mix of Tonga, Fiji, and Marsall Is. LR. Here are some pix of a 50 gal pentagon SH setup:

Here's the LR (there was more in the sump):

Hey namxas, I have the exact same tank. Where did you get the macro? You have flourescent lights?

Your tank looks great, I'd love to be able to grow macroalgae like you have there, but my concern is lighting. I'd still have to retrofit something in my hood to be able to accurately cover my footprint. Then there's the issue of how much lighting I would require to grow the algae. Are you using T5's or vho's? Thank you all for your opinions, I appreciate your responses.

That setup is running a single 96W 50/50 quad PC. It's a 50 gal pent, so it's about 24" tall. We don't do anything special for the macro...just whatever "likes" a given system. We have some tanks that will grow anything, and others that grow certain species.
