I thought I would post pics of my stand and canopy I recently finished. I just got the tank cleaned up and set into place. I'm about ready to start plumbing and I'm sure I will have plenty of questions. If anyone locally has their sump and equipment in an adjacent room, let me know so I can get ideas.

wow, that stand & hood are really impressive! really like the molding and the way the corners flare out almost like columns

that little frog guy to the right of the stand is creepin me out though....i swear he's looking at me:frog:

the crown molding work is great on the tank-now just finish the molding in the room that the tank is in

Looks great. Why did you paint the end?

-Mike

I bought the tank used and it was an in-wall tank. The back and both ends were painted but I scraped one end clean. I decided to leave the other end painted to make maintenance a little easier (this way I don't have to scrape coralline off so much glass). I don't like the looks of this end so I am looking for suggestions on covering this end (I posted another thread asking for suggestions). I thought about getting a stained glass panel to hang. I may just end up scraping this end clean as well.

Not sure what molding in the room you are referring to. Maybe that is your point. The room is finished.

That is gorgeous!! Did you do the plans yourself?

I got the initial idea from sonofgaladrial's (sp?) cube stand. Then modified it to fit my needs and tank size.
