120 Gallon Setup Has Begun

Man, just read through your thread, your stand and canopy is sweet!!! Tanks looks great, I'm in the process of setting up a 120 myself (click the red house if you want to see) How many fish do you plan to keep? I love your fish room, having a 100 gal sump and lots of space for refuge and cal. reactor sure makes it nice. I'll tag along to keep up with your progress. Keep up the GREAT work!!

Incredible tank! Beautiful cvarpentry on the stand!!

I am ordering an AGA 120, but it has the megaflows built in that will handle 600 GPH each. Any reason why you did not go for that instead of the way you did your overflow? Is there somehting wrong with the megaflow system?

Are all of your fish "reef safe"? I have heard that Tangs like to nip on the corals. . .

I bought this tank used otherwise I would have gone with the megaflow system. This tank was custom built for the previous owner with a single overflow. I actually like it better because it doesn't take up so much tank space.

All of my fish are reef safe. No coral nippers.

I changed my MH bulbs tonight from Reeflux 10K to Reeflux 12K. I was almost time to replace the other bulbs anyway and I thought I would try these to see if I can get some better color without sacrificing growth.

A little blue but I did just plug them in. Hopefully they will burn in a little whiter.

I hope to have my new GEO 612 Calcium Reactor online within the next few days.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm still trying to find the time to hook up my calcium reactor. I'll post more pics when I get in online.

I got my calcium reactor and chiller plumbed in this weekend. I know the chiller is too small but I mainly just wanted to make sure it works so I can sell it. I bought it used and haven't even turned it on until yesterday.

Now I just have to learn how to operate and dial in the reactor.

I'm feeding both by T'ing off my main return line

is the output from your T to the calc reactor and chiller enough? Does the chiller return right back into the return line or into the sump?

Nice, how do you like your H&S A150-2001 skimmer so far?

It's great. I wish I would have bought a bigger one. I didn't know I would have this much water when I bought it.

I think the output is enough. Both items did not call for large volumes of water flowing through. They empty back into the sump.
