120 Gallon Setup Has Begun

nice. What JBJ chiller do you have? I have the '075' on a 50 galon. I am hoping that it will work on the new 120.

I am working on a similar setup. I am trying to get a 150 gallon rubbermaid stock tank set up as a sump and then I may upgrade to a 120 display. What protein skimmer would you have gone with if you could do it over again?

THanks

Will

I am thinking about ordering a GEO 618 for my 150g that I am in the process of setting up and was wondering how hard yours was to dial in?
thanks

marino420td can you give me any information on how to put together a complete sump setup and the basic understandings of it all.

To be quite honest, I don't really know yet. I got anxious to get it hooked up and haven't really had a lot of time to devote to it. I set it at the recommended bubble and drip rate, tested the water a couple of times and haven't touched it since. I still have some work to do but have been too busy with other things.

I meant to also say that this reactor is very well constructed. Heavy materials and great craftsmanship. From that standpoint, I highly recommend a GEO.

I will be glad to help in any way I can. Here is a link I suggest you read to get a general understanding of them.

At the bottom of this page there are three links about "Everything you need to know about sumps". They are excellent as well.

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Updates

Installed some new features in my fish room tonight.

Turkey Baster holster and tool tray. Prevents drips after feeding with the turkey baster. I keep super glue, tweezers, small flashlight, etc. in the tray.

I also installed some pegboard for additional storage.

Just an idea have you considered pointing your moon lights up into you MH reflector to help remove the spotlight effect?

Haven't thought of that but I sort of like the shimmering effect.

I did make a diy eductor. It is the one on this thread.

Cheap and easy. I can't really say how well it is working because I only made one so far and there are 4 other outlets on my closed loop. When I get time, I plan to make more and really give them a test.

Marino,

Nice tank looks great. I have started picking things up to begin a 120g of my own in the not so distant future. One question I have is what are you doing for QT? It seems like you get new stock and it is in your tank within a day.

I rarely QT any new livestock. It has cost me at times but nothing major so far. It is something I have to seriously consider as this tank matures.
