hi just wanting to know how much are sps people dosing in ml a day. i have around 20 stonys and i dose brs 2 part through a bubble magnus t 101 doser at 150 ml a day. no mag because still to high 1500. and my cal is 440 and alk 11

everytank is different and every sps tank has a different consumption rate. what is a good dose for one tank maynot be good for ur tank. anyways i have a cal reactor i dont dose unless something is out of wack. just wanted to put my 2 cents in.

I do about 120 ml per day in my 75. Seems like you are about where I am. I have many large sps and am moving into a 120 in the coming weeks. Calcium reactor may be in order...

I'm at 40mL a day of BRS supplements in my heavily stocked 28g :)

Best bet is daily testing for a couple of weeks until you figure out what your tank needs. After that test weekly to adjust for changes.

I have a question for you guys, I am just starting to keep SPS and my tank uses 10ml alk and 25ml cal over a 3 day period. Cal drops by about 20 ppm and alk drops by 1 dkh. Should I split that up over the 3 days or dose every three days?

Definitely dose every day if you can. It's more stable.

On my well stocked 90 when up and running I was dosing 90ml a day! Each system is different on absorption. Hope this helps. dose manually and test parameters and do the math and find out your average daily dosing of two part and dial it in. I think your dkh is a little high. IMO! Chef

My 120 which is light to medium stock (I have about 30 total corals, about 20 of which are sps and lps, mostly frags but a few mediums), and I use about 120 ml each of calcium and alk, my mg seems fine with just waterchanges. This is with saturated kalkwater for my ato.

For sps you want alk to be as stable as possible. I dose alk every other hour (on a controller obviously).

For threads like this maybe we should come up with a standard unit of measurement as it relates to dosing two part. Probably converting the ml into alk drop per day is easiest to use. Every type of 2 part will be mixed to a different strength.

Threads like this one are very misleading...

You should be testing your tank and adjusting your dosing to maintain the values that your shooting for. Every tank is different and every mix is different. There's no way to say x amount for x gallons.

Depends on water change frequency and amount, how much elements the salt mix has, inhabitants, flow, skimmer etc.

Good info, I haven't started to dose yet because my tank is sort of in the new phase and not stocked yet. Nevertheless this is good info once it's heavily stocked, great point of reference IMO.
