120g Upgrade

Got some more work done yesterday out at Rod's. The bulkheads are in and the back glass has been covered in the pond foam. Well 2 cans of the 3 so far. The 4 way also came in so I got the fittings put in it and the fittings for the Dart also. Tonight I will finish making the intake tube for the Dart and use up the last can of pond foam to help conceal as much of that as I can. Once all that dries which will be by Wednesday, the plumbing will be installed. May try and do some of that tonight while out there if time allows. Anyway, Wednesday is test run night for the 4 way. If all goes well, I will be doing the swap within the next couple weeks. Will try for this weekend if at all possible. A lot of water needs to be made between now and then though. See what happens.

I did not get any pics yesterday. I will get some pics of the foam on Wednesday for everyone and the 4 way. Maybe some pics of it running also if it works as planned.

Sorry for the lack of posting lately. Been busy with Dad,work, and the new tank.

I spent Monday finsishing up the pond foam. Turned out ok. Need to do some trimming to make it look more natural, but turned out well for my first attempt I think. Wednesday night, I finished all the plumbing. That was fun. Just ask Rod and Pioneer (Larry) I have a habit of second guessing myself with this hobby for some reason. I don't do it with anything else I enjoy....motorcycles,cars,puters...etc. Just this hobby. So it took me all night to finish what should have taken an hour. Turned out well I think. I was not able to test it due to time. The test run will be on Saturday. I will get pictures then for everyone. Plumbing, foam and hopefully some action shots. Really anxious to get this behind me. I also plan to finish the trim for the new Oak and adding the Oak to the stand and canopy.

Fingers crossed all goes well.

Thanks Tony. There is some time in that system and some planning to get it where it is. It turned out nice. No problem with the water help. Just sorry to see your thumb gushing blood. Hopefully it will heal quickly with no problems for you.

I am going to try and get the tank and stand home this weekend and get it set up. See what hapens. If not this weekend it will have to wait another 2-3 weeks. Just trying to round up some muscle to get the tank inside and on the stand. If I can get that, it will be home this weekend. :) I am sure Rod would like his space back

:D

Thanks again,

Todd

Vehicle is no big deal. I have a truck. Just need the muscle to put it on the stand. I will let you know if what I have planned falls through. It would be Friday night this week.

Thanks for the offer,

Todd

Thanks for the offers Tony and Larry. Looks like Rod will be able to help. If something falls through, I will let you know.

I was out there tonight and took all the plumbing apart and drained the tank. Man that stuff is a lot easier to take apart then it is to put together...:)

Plumbing. The big 2" is the intake for the Reeflo Dart pump running the closed loop through an Oceans Motions 4 Way. Each 1" outlet is spa flex and controlled by true union ball valves.

I have not put water in it yet at home to test for leaks. I will do that tomorrow and see what happens. Fingers crossed that everything turns out ok.

Thanks Larry. It took some time to get it to that point. Which is why this swap is a little nerve racking. I have a lot of nice things that I want to survive. Another reason Elizabeth wanted a sand bed. She said it worked well in the 75g, let's replicate that success with the 120g. Fingers crossed it turns out just as nice if not better.

120g is up and running with sand and a few pieces of live rock in it. Wife decided she wanted sand again. :)

Corals and fish are being housed in a stock tank right now until the sand storm settles and I can get the detritus out from moving the sand.

The 75g is empty. I am selling the 75g AGA RR for $150 with the overflow kit. It is 1 year old if that matters to anyone. the back is painted black also. I have the 2x4 stand framing that I will also sell for $50. The bottom and top are lined with 3/4" plywood. No center supports to interfere with getting under the stand either. It is wide open end to end. All you need is a shell for it. I need to clean the tank out, but it will be ready to go this week if anyone is interested.

More pics will come as I get time.
Thanks,

Todd

Water is still a bit cloudy. I had a bacterial bloom from messing with the sand bed. I have another 75g of fresh salt water ready to do a change.

Thanks for the interest. Thanks again go out to Rod for the use of his shot and being able to bounce ideas off of him and get some feedback. It helped a lot. Thank you Sir.

Larry...than you again for your muscle that late night. You are more than welcome to stop by any time. Thanks.
