Gregg what seios did you say you have again?
Are they too much for your softies?

I have one SEIO 1100 on one side and a smaller powerhead on the other, 2 might be too much for softies.

Oh yeah, what was tho mod yo were referring to with the seios?

And you use the 1100 mainly for the top SPS?

One thing to remember, though is that you can adjust the output of the Seios..... I've got both my 1500's running flat out, but you do have some flexability.....

Yea..... Gregs got an awesome tank.... ( not much water volume left though...lol )

I've got to ask you, have you given any more thought to upgrading your 10k's to the 14k's yet on your MH's..??

Oh and by the way, on the hood design..?? My wife told me that she does not like the look of the "hoods" ( sorry ) But I will also tell you that as this tank evolves, if I tell her that I need to add more light down the road and that having the extra bulbs just "sitting" there is going to look like "doo doo", she may come around to the full hood idea.... Personally, I think it's a sweet setup... But for right now, I've got vurtually nothing in my tank so it's going to be a while until I can pose that to her.....

One last thing.... How do you nominate peoples tanks for TOTM..??

So what size tank do you have?
Do you only have SPS?

Yeh, it actually creates a big circle around the tank and is borken up the return streams. Try one and if it's not enough get another.

After adding the T5s and canopy I think I have found the perfect look. I'll lose growth with the higher K also. The best thing about the hood is that it blocks all of the light you see below the fixture. It's like watching a TV with a light on it.

I think you have to PM Skipper to nominate someone for TOTM

I've got several tanks but the one that I'm using the Seios in is a 150gal.... And as of right now, I've got very little in it... Some brown button polyps, mushrooms, xenia and a lobophyllia....

I found a nice stag yesterday and it was a nice shape for a place I was looking to mount a SPS.

Well it's probably not going to be hooked up anytime soon due to space restraints, until I figure something out but here's my new skimmer.

It's a MRC MR-3 with the dual injector add-on. Rated up to 500 Gallons so it should be able to keep up. A fellow reef club member traded it to me when she upgraded hers, Thanks BocaSwim!

I also took my blonde naso out yesterday due to it's blasto eating habits getting even worse, and no I've never heard of any other tang eating coral. I picked out her replacement yesterday and I should pick it up today, it's a Red Sea Blonde Naso and the coloring is twice as nice, it really is amazing. Here's a pic of it from the store.

Thanks, he's a little larger than the one I took out but not much. He's about 4.5 inches long. His streamers are awesome.

Hey Greg,

Are you still using the standard 10K coralife bulb with that fixture.

I'm finding that my lights, and tank look rather yellow. I've been told this is normal for the Coralife fixture. A fellow reefer mentioned I should try one of the Icecap 10K bulbs. Apparently it produces a nice white light, and only cost about $56. ( Throught cooltouch lighting ).

Alternatively, I'm still thinking of trying the 14K

I'm still using the coralife 10ks and they don't look yellow to me at all. If you do try another brand let me know how you like them to help me decide what to get next time.
