My tank is now 2 years old. I set mine up like that (wall of rock) originally. But have been slowly rearranging over time which is difficult with growing corals. I suggest bringing some rock forward to give a 3D effect. The look is more real looking also. It will also allow place for corals in the front and back without being on a sand bed that can get blown around.

However, let me say that everyone has their own ideas of what looks good and works well with water movement. Maybe some others have some good ideas.

Thank you I think I might try to do a stacked 3d look mixed if that is possible. But thank you for your input it is very appreciated.

I have the same tank as well and am unsure what type of powerheads I'm going to run. I initially wanted to run a gyre but with the dimensions of the corner flows I don't know if I can do that without mounting it vertical and I don't know how it'll flow.

There's a really good thread on how to make an aquascape better. Should take a look at that thread and it might inspire you to change it a bit, doesn't seem bad currently but better to get it situated now while nothing is in there.

Thank you for the information. I went with 2 jebao rw-8s. I was going to go with 2 rw-15s but they said that it would just create a big sand storm so I just decided to get the 8's.

Got the rest of the stuff in today. The apex, return pump, gfo reactor and pump, and refugium light(from lowe's). I started wiring everything up so please excuse wire mess I am no where close to done with that.

Great build from start to finish. Everything looks great. You plan on doing SPS, mixed reef?

Thank you! Yes i am going to have a mixed reef. I probably will not do SPS at first. I want to wait until I get dosers to dose alk and calcium to help the SPS grow! And also I want my tank to get some age and become stable before I start thinking about SPS.

Hey guys and gals just wanted to bring you another update the tank is full now, and the protein skimmer is going through the 24 hour break in period. Any input would be very much appreciated.

I think it looks good. The only thing I might change is the stack of egg crate. It might be hard to clean out maybe try to zip tie a stand out of some pieces and leave it open on the bottom.

Thank you for the suggestion. That is a very good idea I will look into that.
