My son & his family came over last night to help me get my 125 finally going.

Those of you who don't know me I was the COMAS frag program director in 2005. The log for the 72 bowfront I had at that time is here if you are so inclined as to peruse it at your leisure. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=601170

I`m just starting this thread to keep my log on, sooooo if`n ya`ll don`t wanna follow. cool beans ;)

Those of you who do remember me, Howdy ya`ll!!! Long time no see.

The tank right after I picked it up sometime around summer 2005, it was a freebie just for picking it, up so the price was right.

The previous owner replaced it after trying to reseal a leak, the silicone was over an inch thick in some places.

The wife and I scraped all the old silicone off and replaced it with new, I build the stand myself and plans are to enclose it so it appears built in.

So far I have the sand in, a few rocks and 15 gl of water in it. Plans are to use this as my Angelfish and Butterfly display. Found an excellent deal on either a Majestic or Emperor Angel, both are Juvi`s, that I plan to pick up next Sunday. Haven`t decided which one but leaning towards the emperor.

Discouraging yes, however I know that a c.o.m.a.s. member somewhere has to have an old light sitting around they don`t use and would be willing to part with. This is only going to be a FOWLR system so I don`t need anything exotic. It is 72" long tho so I was thinking if I could pick up a couple 36" or even 48" ones that would be sufficent. I have one 48" complact flouresent that needs a ballast to get going.

Greg,

I may well have a spare T5 set up for sale in the next week or so, it is a 4 bulb setup. I am swapping one out for a different unit on the display tank.

Decided that the 125 is coming down, since I have to drain the leak test water anyway the wife and I want to put down a tile floor in the room.

Stay tuned for progress pics.
