I think the point is just because its "cool" or "nice" if you cant use it whats the point in getting it? More so with things people give away free or cheap to "help out" others in the hobby, to get them just cause its cheap or free just so it can sit in your garage cause one day you might find a use for it, be able to sell it for more or trade it for something you really want spits in the face of the generous person or others that see it happen who may now not do it in the future.
But like I said before if really did want to use it but found out it wouldnt fit it happens. But to post the same/next day that you want to trade it for something else and not just pass it along for free since you cant use it is flying in the face of the intention of the person giving it away. Just my opinion (and looking like a few others)

this is just my opinion, mainly because i have never seen nor heard of anyone putting a tank on an oversized stand, but i don't think plywood would be strong enough to support the back of the tank. i think it would eventually tork and crack. large tanks that are not level have the potential to crack, much less a tank that does not have the proper support.

frankly, i think you would be crazy to put a tank on a stand that was manufactured for a different size tank.

What about the $25 offer? Seems fair to me you still get something for nothing. Also you made money on the lights you got for free from him too so you would be way ahead of the game. By the way calling people babies just because they are questioning your ethics is really showing your true self and you run the risk of losing more friends then making them.

hmm the lights i still have some i gave away that didnt work to someone who is gonna fix it and i would rather sit on it for 3 months than give it away

I dont really understand why everybody cares that he got the tank for free. I dont know anybody in their right mind that would not try and do the same thing. This goes aginst every buisness plan out there. Any company builds a product for a certain price and then marks it up to make money. Hes doing the same thing and all of a sudden he becomes some shady dude. That tank probably cost AGA 20.00 bucks to build and they sell them for what 600-800. How come we dont have people beating their doors down? Protein Skimmers are a perfect example. With ASM's quantity discounts they probable could build a skimmer for around 30-50 their cost and they sell them for 200-700. I Just dont get it. Whats the big deal.

Aaron the reason the free thing is an issue was there were other people that wanted the tanks and JBW took advantage of someone's kindness ( Had the tanks "held" for him so others couldn't take them) He could make it right but resorts to name calling instead.

Was this tank form the giveaway that petland in naperville had. If so I remember reading the post from the new manager. saying that there would be no holding tanks. It was First come
first serve. I am not standing up for the guy I just want to know how everybody knows that he had the tank held for him.

there was already a discussion on this in the past and i won so dont matter to me what anyone has to say really just a bunch of ****ed off people cause they didnt get it thats all.. Ill use it in 3 months or so and thats it

end of story i dont have time and neither do i have to explain myself lto anyone

like someone said in a nother post this is the perfect chance for someone with a smaller tanks that wants bigger to get it and make 2 people have tanks they can use at this time

it was first come first serve hence why i filled up a f150 about 3 times not all for me though 3 people i work with came along for bigger tanks

and besides you know how many tanks got tossed in the garbage because people were lazy and didnt go up there

As much as I enjoy all this back and forth conversation the reality is anyone who can search on this site will see that you are not being honest. The lights you sold are never mentioned anywhere in your history until you got them from Petland. I also saw that you resealed the 125 which now means I wouldnt take it from you if you paid me $25. If you cant be honest on a posting who will believe you resealed it properly? Anyone taking this tank from you needs to worry that you will cause a flood in their house.

To all potential takers on this tank have it filled in the garage and be advised as to who you got it from.

Well you are the one that said you built a staircase that a 125 Gallon 72x18x22 wont fit down. Was the staircase built for midgets? A standard 125 is the size of an average man. Auto mechanic or not it doesn't make you a carpenter or tank builder or mover so my statement still stands anyone who takes this tank needs to be concerned about the work you have done on it. You have been less then honest already so who should believe you?
