I am setting up a 125g reef, the tank has 2 overflows. should i run 2 seperate sumps or one big one? i've read that wet/dry filters produce nitrates. should it be sump or wet/dry, and what size pumps? i am looking at 2 rio 2100 692gph the overflows are rated at 600gph per. lighting is the next thing i'm looking at orbit 72" 385watt (4-96watt) 6 lunar, i don't want to run a chiller but do want to be able to have some coral. thanks for the input. kdirk

Id go with a single larger sump w/ refugium (check into SLS 125g Refugium sump). Have one side of intake and other for outake... Wet/drys do produce nitrates if you dont keep up with weekly-biweekly h2o changes.

I prefer mag pumps, id recommend maybe 2 mag 5s or a single mag 9-12.

Lighting wise, mise well just skip right to MHs with PC actinics. I ran 4x96w on a 45 gallon (mayn ot be sufficient for a 125g)...Now im doing 2x250w MH on a 55g.

I have the same 125g, feel free to look in my gallery for ideas on the set up.

One sump would be better IMO. I use a 55g tank as my sump.

Bioballs are not the greatest. Live rock is the prefered method. 1-2 lbs per gallon.

Rio pumps are not the greatest either. IMO Mag Drive pumps are great. Look into a Mag Drive 9.5 or 12, depending on the head loss.
