Hi,
I have been searching and unable to find answers to my ?'s. Please Help! I have had the original 12 g. nano cube for about 18 mos. The light finally went out. I have purchased 2 corallife lights and both do not work when plugged in. When moving the lights I bought it sounds like something inside is moving around or broken. My original JBJ light does not sound like something is loose inside it. Could the problem be the ballast? Or have I had 2 faulty lights( both from the same store). This is so frustrating as all pet stores are at least 30 minutes away and I have made 3 trips already. How can you tell the difference btwn a broken ballast or light? Are the PC 24 watt lights supposed to sound like something is loose in them? If it is a ballast problem where is the best place to purchase on line? Thanks in advance for your help.

My 12gallon JBJ cube ballast died after just over a year. I was forced to ghetto-fy a new lighting system for the tank, while I started building a new system.

The store where you bought the bulbs should be able to test them. Call them and ask if they can test the bulbs. If so, go back there to have the bulbs tested. If the bulbs are good, then the ballast is dead. Try finding a ballast on ebay or at nano customs dot com.
