big list, I hope that covers everybody, the dt is closed, lol...

only incoming will be the peppermints but they will go in the 250 with Blondie, though I hope to try again with the bandits within the month, well see...
and the geni trio, candy pair, and royal gramma, lol, will stay in 125...
 
Thanks for posting up the video, tank looks great, a lot of movement going on, it must look incredible in person... Just out of curiosity, are most of the pics you share with us taken at night with the lights on, or daytime with just natural light?
 
Sorry to read about the Bandits, I don't think you should beat yourself up about the clam feeding. These were awfully small fish, chances of them immediately devouring big meaty foods upon acclimation is pretty slim.

These fish are so small and have such a small digestive tract and high metabolism at this age the rigors of collection and travel are pretty substantial.

I look forward to photos of Blondie growing up with you.

I added a pair of Venustus last week. They stayed within a foot of each other for the first 5 days and stayed out and visible, then over the weekend they slipped into the rock work. Difficult to keep track of them now but they are venturing out.

Going to start looking for a Colini or two over the summer.

Watching the Navarchus mature is going to be fun too. Over the years I have grown Korans, Imperators, Cortez, Chrysurus, Gold Flakes and Blue Face. I have kept several Navarchus but never started with a Juvenile.

It's one of my favorite fish for my fish only tanks. But I have never had the cajones to put one in my reef.

thanks, yes, a ton of movement!

I try to take most pics during the day as the ambient light is killer...also take some under lights, mainly the blues as that is how the tank is most of the time..I should crank up the lights when taking pics...

The Navarchus is amazingly comfy and was going after the largest bandit, which was amusing to see...she is fairly visible as is the Colins which is truly remarkable, it is the golden and candy pair I never see, though this was expected...
In Aug. this Navarchus will have been with me 1 year. It is incredible that she is still showing such juvi coloration...I am hoping and xpecting that her adult conversion will occur fairly rapidly now in dt.
The activity has also allowed the Regal to swim more openly...

Good luck with the Venustus and I hope you can locate some Colins...between Kevin and Michael, it should be fairly easy.

Can you shed some light on your jocs? Did you find them difficult or easy to get eating. Tbh, I just lost a venustus that I couldn't get eating so I'm a little gunshy at the moment. I see DD has one and I'm considering it but would ideally like a pair. Do you know how often these are being collected..once, twice a summer? Should I aim for getting two at the same time vs adding one later?

Thanks, and sorry to hear, they can be quite sensitive...I have never had a problem getting a joc to eat but I have with getting a vensutus to eat..,
Jocs are tough lil fish...

funny, I have like 300 "dollars" in dd that are going to expire in a day or two, and was looking at the joc...

I wish I could give you my dd points...

Ahh...looks like someone nabbed her just now. Not fair as I was working! :D So, for future reference, you wouldn't have concerns about getting one under 2"?

I'm going to email DD and see if they're expecting any more in the near future.

wasn't me...no, a great size, though I have had little ones down a half inch without any issues...should call or email Kevin, when there is one up on dd, there is always a chance there is an additional 1 or 2 behind the scenes...

I've emailed Kevin at DD. We'll see what he says. I need to reread your thread. The Jocs are fairly aggressive, no?
 
Jocs are tough little fish and can def hold their own...in the set-ups that I have had them, they were not really an offensively mean or challenging fish...
