140 rebuild

Where did you mount the pumps, I couldn't see them. Nice wave action though did it take long to get it dialed in?
Bill

I have them mounted on the left side glass. They are about 6" apart left to right and the one closest to the front sits about 6" below the one at the top. To be honest I got my rebuild kits in yesterday and decided to rebuild them this afternoon. After that I poped them in the tank and turned it on. Picked a setting that I thought would work and bam WAVES! lol I think my pumps were having issues before the rebuild because I have sat with that thing for hours and never got close. They felt like they were binding when you tried to free spin them. The only coral I have in there at the moment is a war coral and that joker is haaaappppy.

Thanks Zef. Video it with your phone, thats what I did.

Yeah, they were not pushing as hard when you over for some reason. Got that fixed now with the rebuild. I might tinker some more with it this week to see if I can get the standing wave effect. Don't know if I can, but worth a shot.

You know you can save your setting so when someone come over just turn the setting on and bam wave.

yeah, I did not have it dialed in when he was over though. Pumps were giving problems before, so I could not get the wave period. Also, you may know this zef. When I unplug one of my pumps to test my backup battery it flashes red/green saying that its seized up but I know that is not the issue. Do you have any clue how to fix that? The other one is fine though, pretty sure it is the one wet end that is the problem.

Do you have the main power cord hooked up to the controller and the backup battery. Mine dose that when it's running on just the battery.

No I'm wrong mine just flash green. Maybe your spacer is off or the bearing or shaft is a lil off. I would take it apart and clean it good and put it back together. A hair can make it off just a lil. And make sure the magnet are not rubbing on the pin spacer or the wetside frame.

looked at all of that, still nothing. They were both doing it until I rebuilt the wetsides, now just the one doing it.

Just try take it apart and put it together. Something is given some resistant those bearings are tricky. If not put in perfect it will do that on low power.

I'll call them in the morning Most likely he will say the same thing or have it ship to them. But I know these vortechs in and out.
