My tank isn't starfire because there's probably another upgrade after this one down the road, but you can definately see the difference between my tank and Scott's starfire tank.
Dang! Why'd you have go say that for! Now I'm going to have to spend the big bucks!
Didn't get a chance at the swap to chat much with you as it was a bit chaotic and it didn't help that I didn't have a prime spot like you, Carlos and Lyndel had!:D I was stuck in the muddy corners, getting pushed around buy Dave's tortois! That's what I get for coming just 15min late!lol

Here's proof!

Here's proof!

See, here's where the main event was taking place and you can easily see Lyndel in the thick of things, pushing his frags on everybody! I'm so far to the left that even if you went another 20ft, I still wouldn't be in the pic!:D

Hahahaha... sorry Roland! It's not a bad thing... I see it more like... good and better =) Just think, at least you don't have to get the sides starfire since it will be an in wall tank. Look at the money you'll save there!

Yeah, I wish we had to chance to talk more at the swap... I'd love to figure out what you've got in that tank of yours now! Hehe

Hahaha... thanks Mike! It's tough to leave this hobby alone. I always feel like I want to change something or move things around, but after all this time... it always seems that the less I have my hand in the tank, the better it looks!:smokin:

Hey Garrick,

Dang Garrick. Tank is looking awesome. Good seeing you again at the swap. Thanks for the tyree. Lemme know how that stag does. Should look really good under 14K's and t-5's

Christian

Christian, no problem on the frag... the one you gave me is looking good too. Polyps were out after 5 minutes in the tank! Good to see you again this weekend.

Garrick

so how much room is left behind the rock? like 4 inches?

did you use epoxy or something to hold all that rock?

thanks!

Nick

Thank rock is pretty sturdy but it would come down in an earthquake. I did not epoxy the rock together. There is probably only 2-3 inches from the back at the closest point.

i bet that took awhile to aquascape too! but it was worth it what a great tank! i think this shoudl be TOTM well the one for december for sure!

thanks for all those answers to my questions too!

Nick

Nick - that sounds about right.

Mike - the T5's are ok... I've tried both the blue plus and the actinic 03 bulb and I prefer the blue plus. If I were to do it all over again, I'd probably use VHO's. We'll see what happens though when the T6's hit the US.

Thanks Nick... the aquascape did take a while. I had to basically throw everything in at first when I was transferring the tank and then wory about the aquascape the following day. I had an idea of what I wanted it to look like so that made the process a little easier.

As for TOTM, definately not worthy yet... maybe in a year after everything grows out :smokin:

oh yeah thats what i was going to ask you i haev 4 250w reef optic 3 pendants w/14 k hamilton bulbs, was wondering how you run your lights like do the t5 come on earlier than the MHs? or how does your lighting schedule work?

thanks!

Nick

Good pendants... I run my T5's 1 hour before the MH come on through 1 hour after the MH turn off. The MH are on for 9hrs a day.
