Greg...looking great. I'm still plugging away on mine. How about a full shot from the front.

Mike here you go. I'm still photographically challenged. Its the best I can do. I had a Blue+ bulb in the mix and it was making the white balance very difficult I replaced it with an other 10K. let me know what you think.

Looking good! When are you going to plumb the fuge? Let me know if I can help with anything. We will be up your way saturday. Also, whats the deal with the freaky face in the corner? Keeping all the bad juju away from your tank?

I still have a little wood work to do on the closet and a few coats of polyurethane, then build the fuge. I have most of the racks for the electronics finished, but I will still need to do some final wiring once the closet is finished and the electronics racks are installed.

Thats Quan Yin (a female form of Buddha) she keeps a watch out for the tank.

hows the skimmer mod working?

The skimmer is doing great but since I depend on gravity feeding it from the prop tank and it only has a bout a 2 inch drop there is not flow, so I need to raise the prop tank to get more flow.

Has the RBTA settled down yet???

He is still walking allover the prop tank :) fortunately he is under the Egg crate and cant get on top with the frags.

I guess after I get better lights over the 120 he will go out there. Hopefully that will be this weekend after I get some reflectors built.

Greg, just got to look through the thread. Tank is looking good!

Looks like you really stocked up there, some nice looking stuff! AA must LOVE when you come through the doors!

Funny thing is I never get there at a good time to spend too much money, either the shipment hasn't gotten there yet or I run my mouth to long and have some place to be and have to go, but I do make it there at least once a week and drool!

I did pick up a nice Powder Brown Tang and 5 Blue Green Chromis yesterday but again I was there before the corals came in.

Damn Greg your tank is looking good. I love the photo with the Chromis in it. Makes me want to go diving. Maybe I should call in sick this weekend :) got any room left on your boat?

Do you plan on selling corals? Cuz you sure have them packed in there. Any growth and you are going to have wars.

Gabriel,

I have a few large ones That I would like to sell to make room for more. I am getting rid of the softies also because it is getting too risky with so many SPS to loose from one dead toad stool.

I have plenty of frags in the prop tank that I trade for cool stuff and sell to support the build.

I have grouped a lot of monties together, they wont kill each other when they touch so it wont matter how big they get.

Yo Greg, How's the knee doing. That was a great TBRC meeting at your house. I'm still getting good comments about it. Everyone was impressed with your setup...how could we not be!!!
Anything new with the lights? I pickup up the VHO stuff I needed at FAOIS today, and will start on my light rack on Monday.

Ok I have been just way to busy to update the Build log. Its not from lack of work but that I got a new job and a few more tanks.

I picked up a 240 and that has taken a few weekends to get running.

I should start from the beginning.

I had to raise the Skimmer 4 inches to get the gate valve to clear the baffle so it would empty into the sock. I built an acrylic shelf for the skimmer to sit on in the sump.

The Skimmer was not running as well as I had expected because I was feeding it from the drain of the Prop tank and since I raised the skimmer I could not get enough flow through the prop tank because of the head preasure from the skimmer. So I built a shelf to raise the prop tank 4 inches, I had to empty the prop tank, remove the sump, then slide out the prop tank slide in the shelf and then reinstall the prop tank and sump. You cant hardly tell how much work it took from the pic

This worked for getting more flow through the prop tank but when I hooked it up to the skimmer the back pressure overflowed the prop tank. I ended up feeding the skimmer with a 802 power head anyway.

Work continues on the closet I installed an American DJ power center and some Intermatic digital timers to the power panel. The timers are pretty tricky to set but luckily have a batterie backup so you don't have to do it that often. the DJ power center blew out a few switches in the first month of operation and it would be a pain to send back to have it fixed so I took it to this local electronics shop and I replaced all the lighted 15amp switches with 20 amp switches now it pops the circuit breaker before it burns up a switch.

I cut some aluminum U channel and made starboard inserts that allow the ballast racks to slide in and out for ease of access behind the power panel. The Intermatic digital timers will be replaced in a few weeks when the AC3 I have on order comes in then it will be time to tame that octopus of wires back there.

I was to busy to build the fuge myself I had every intention to do it and had it designed, and even shopped for acrylic but kept putting it off for lack of time. I gave the plans to a friend in the business to cut the pieces and he offered to just go ahead and build it for me. It turned out really nice Thanks Checkinhawk you did a great job. The fuge is 40 gals 24 X 24 X 16 with a 6 X 12 X 18 rubble zone and a 6 X 12 X 18 (5 gal) section that I intend to use for a Carlson or Boremamen surge device.

Since I had the fuge sitting here I had better finish the closet so this weekend I built the top of the closet and installed it and squared it all up with the fuge in place to make sure it would fit. Next I have to take it all down and sand and finish the closet with a few coats of poly.

I build a few reactors for the 150 a Neilson Kalk reactor Sulfur Denitrifier a Fluidized bed filter and a carbon reactor. I still have to build a Ca reactor and all the filtration will be finished.

I have decided to dump the T5s and HQI and go with Vho and MH I built a few reflectors to house the 250 watt Aquaconnect 14k SE bulbs and am still working on the new rack.

More to come on the 240.

Has the RBTA settled down yet???

Mike that rat b@strd never settled down was banished to the prop tank. I was going to give him away so when Brucem came buy to help with the prop tank raising event I told him it would be a fair trade for the help, when we were removing all the frags we saw that it had split and now there was 2. I gave one to Bruce and he took it home and never moved in his tank. so then it split for him and they both were still in the same spot, when I went over to convert his tank to a starboard reef, so I took one back.
I dropped it in the 150 and it has not moved since (about 3 weeks now) The original RBTA is on the porch in the 240 and has been all over that tank too.

150 update pt 2

150 update pt 2

I was going through about 250ml of 2 part a day and it was getting to be a pain making 1 gal batches every few weeks so I got an Aqua Medic Reefdoser to do it automatically and to spread the doses out giving me more stability.

I had the auto topoff down because I needed to replace the relay in the switching unit, so I was adding 3 gal of topoff water every morning by hand. I had mixed up a 5 gal batch of 2 part and left the containers next to the tank. it was early and I had just gotten up so I was not thinking straight. I was in the process of adding RO water from a 5 gal bucket and accidentally pored about 2 gal of Ca in the sump. OMG, I woke up with the realization of what I had done.

I was getting ready to set up the 240 and had about 300 gal of water made so I did 2 75% water changes back to back. I lost several nice corals to that ordeal but it is recovering now.

I built a rack to hold 2 1 gal Bionic jugs and keep the 5 gal jugs of 2 part on the porch now.

I got a Red Sea Ozone generator with the 240 so I hooked it up to the ER 12-1 and the water has never been Clearer. I would NOT recomend running O3 without an ORP controller but since I was getting an AC3 soon I hooked it up and am running it very sparingly ((20mg/hr)

man oh man you have some work ahead of you Greg lol, changing lighting, adding all those reactors and refuge.and i thought i had it bad on my build.
