Introduction:
Hey Reefers,
My name is Theon Bruse and I live in Adelaide in Australia.
I am excited to be apart of this forum and am looking forward to getting to know you crazy reefers out there!
I have had a few aquariums over the past 15 years, from tropical to brackish with cichlids to marine. At present I am running a Redsea max 250 with a calcium reactor and other goodies. It consists of a variety of fish and corals. It has been running successfully for 3 years now but I have run out of room. Will keep in the garage for a QT if required.
So...... I have decided to take the plunge on a custom monster.(for me)
I have stolen many (stolen) ideas from forums....got to love the net!
So to follow is the design I have come up with. Excuse my hand drawn plans but I haven't had time to learn google sketch up.
I will post lots of pickies of the build and later, the live stock.
System Objectives: Lots of colour and lots of personality!
System Type: Mixed Reef
Strike up Date: End of Feb 2012
Display Tank: 2200mm x 700mm x 700mm in 15mm Starfire glass - front, back and one side. Euro brace in Starfire. Polished edges. Built by Dennison from Mary Anne's Aquarium-legend!
Display Lighting: Vertex Illumina SR1800 led with 3 red led modules
Stand: 2200mm x700 x1000mm high in 50mm steel painted in white 2pak. Made by Dennisons dad. Cabinetry in white 2pak gloss to match kitchen.
Hood:Fully enclosed with bulkhead to ceiling, white 2pak cabinetry.
Sump: 1950mm x 500mm x 500mm with Eurobrace. Built by Dennison.
Refugium: Included in sump above. 1100mm x 500mm x 500 mm to include a DSB, Cheeto and live rock. Note the DSB will be thoroughly cleaned once a year!!
Refugium Lighting: Vertex Illuminux led 900 mm 50-bianco 50-white
Support systems: Vertex Cerebra System....soon please!!
System Water: artificial salt water to be constantly slowly changed via the Spectrapure Liter Meter 111
Display Water circulation: Closed Loop to base pipe system which will have outlets to under the rock work and 8 flow accelerators to various positions. Pump - Red Dragon Speedie 8000lth.
2x Vortech MP 60s
Tunze 6205 ( If I find any dead spots )
Manifold to chiller, universal reactors, calcium reactor and one spare line. Run from Red Dragon Speedie 8000lth pump.
Return Pump: Red Dreagon 12000 lth Pump
Skimmer: Royal Exclusive Bubble King 300 Deluxe Internal
Evaporation Top Up: Tunze Osmolator plus 2 x Tunze RO controllers to top up RODI 200 lt storage tank and 600 lt saltwater storage tank.
Chiller Teco with Heating and UV
Chemical Support: Vertex Libra dosing pumps
Calcium Addition: Deltec PF601 Calcium Reactor with Dupla CO2 system.
Alkilinity Addition: Dosing and calcium reactor
Other Mechanical Maintenance: 2x Vertex UF20 universal media reactors for carbon and Rowaphos as required.
Plus whatever else I talk myself into buying! Lol

I should take delivery of the sump, stand and DT in 2 weeks. All the pumps, skimmer, calcium reactor and Tunze equipment from Sewetec will hopefully be here next week ( DHL tracker says on delivery to dest.) :crossfingers:
