I am quarentining several fish for this new fish only tank.
I have only had tanks with coral and fish and I do the regular maintanance with water changes, in addition to dosing alk and cal and testing several other parameters

do fish only tanks require any special care?
I believe no water changes are needed?
tank will be bare botton with a skimmer and live rock.
how much flow would be recomended for such tank?

I am not sure if a refugium would be needed for such tank or if I should put a GFO reactor in sump to keep PO4 and avoid algae problems??
Thanks for your comments

I would double check on this. When I have my FO tank I did water change one a month

Water changes aren't needed to keep Alk and Calcium levels up like they are needed in a reef, but unless you feed very little and have a huge skimmer nutrients will build up and cause nuisance algae even with a refugium and GFO more than likely

I would certainly do water changes regularly to keep nutrients in check, as Dmorty said.

Since this is FO, why not put in the FO section? It needs more content! :0)

Thanks a lot for all your answers. Will post in fish only section.
I did realize before that there is a section for fish only tanks.
