150G stocking questions - tangs

I will be upgrading my 55G tank to a 150G (6ft long) in a few weeks and wanted to start getting an idea on my stocking options, especially regarding tangs. I'm fairly set that I want a powder blue tang, so I am curious how multiple tangs do in a tank this size.

A purple tang might be my second preferred tang that can live comfortably in a 150G, so would those two live peacefully together or would I run into issues? How many tangs are recommended for a 150G? Anyone willing to share their experiences in tanks similar to this size would be appreciated...

Both species you mention are indeed quite aggressive, especially the powder blue tang. IMO, two tangs is max for a tank of about that size. A purple and powder blue tang may work well, may not all depending on the individuals you get.

My personal preference is keeping fish that stay under 6" or so in tanks that are less than 8ft long. Seeing a good sized, 15" sohal in the LFS frag tank (10x4ft) must be what makes me shy away from large fish.

2-3 tangs would e good in a 6'. I have kept purples and pbt together for years. they are both aggressive and evenly matched so they end up doing a lot of posturing but rarly much damage to each other. I've always added them at the same time too.
