150w HQI ballast

I'm going DE on my tank and will be in need of a ballast and was wondering if the icecap is worth the extra money over the coralvue. Thanks!

Hi,

The Icecap is the most proven electronic ballast and has the 3 year warranty. Coralvue seems like a nice electronic ballast, just has not been around as long. There new version has performed well though, no complaints so far on the newest version.

Thanks Jason, also, will both of them hook up to the Reef Optix III or will some kind of adapter be needed?

You would have to do some wiring for either model. Not bad though, just 3 wires to connect.
