Tank: 150x70x60
Sump: 85lx60wx40h
Stand: 50x50x3mm wall
Lighting: maxspect mazara p series 2 panels set on 100% with some clouds thrown in
Skimmer: skimz sm201 probably overkill but my water is crystal clear
Return pump: waveline dc 6000
Water movement: 1x ecotech mp 10 off my old tank set flat out on tidal mode.
1x jebao wp 40 set mid way on wave 1 TO MAKE SOME WAVES. These waves don't do much in the way of Current but they create fractionation and defractionation to make some awesome glitter line just like in the wild. These ripples stand up to an inch tall and get pretty noisy as they go over the weir.
Cooling: hailea 1000 chiller
This will likely go off line as I am in the process of installing an air con so there really is no need to run a huge chiller as the tank only gets hot from the ambient air temp which though summer here is around 26-35 degrees c I didn't kick the chiller in until just before Christmas when the tank was sitting around 29*c.

Other filtration: I run rowa phos
Bio pellets and a filter sock sometimes
Live rock: of cause about 50 kg
Sand: a 1 inch bed of Red Sea sugar size oolite it's great never need to touch it I have a sea cucumber for that.
Livestock:
1x regal tang
1x sailfin tang
1x lawn mower blenny
1x six line wrasse
6x green chromis
1x coral beauty angelfish
1x red line cardinalfish
1x mullers butterflyfish. A new resistant to the tank he is the size of a small coin and mostly picks at the Rock but I have seen it pick at a few corals strangely the corals seem no worse for where so I'm thinking he's after Copepods on the coral he's a pretty cool addition so I can't see him going any time soon.
Inverts: there are countless I try to keep my systems biodiversity as rich as I can so I'll name a few.
Pistol shrimps: got heaps, in the main display and the sump although as noisy as they can be I love them their great for keeping inside and under the rock work clean and every now and then they treat me with a spawning release baby pistols everywhere. These little heard but not seen critters remind me that there's more to the reef then meets the eye some cracks can be heard at the other end of my house.

Heaps of hermit crabs
About 80 snails
And much mysterious stuff that crawls out of the rocks.
Corals: mainly sps but a couple Lps to keep the mrs happy

Water parameters as follows.
No3: undetectable with Red Sea kit
Po4: 0.003 salifert
Ca: 430 ppm salifert
Kh: 7.8 dkh Red Sea
Mag: 1320 ppm Red Sea
Temp: chiller currently set at 27 but I change with the seasons anywhere from 19 in winter to 28 in summer
Other additions: I also add continuum macro blast I've seen good things from this product and I rate it higher than zeovits coral vitaliser with the continuum the polyps on my acros throw out heaps of feeding tentacles which the cv never did. While using the zeo products I had a bit of cyano on the sand since I've stopped using their products it has gone away I just keep it simple now I don't bag out on their products they must work the prof is in the pictures but I don't have the time or funds to do it
The only other thing I dose is vinegar to keep the no3 under control I'm dosing at 30 ml / day.
I just ran my first lot of brightwells activated carbon and man that stuff is potent. I used 100grams and nearly bleached my corals wow.
I don't want people to go all slap happy on me so please don't.
I pretty well haven't done a water change in the tank since I kicked it off in August 2014 I found that even though I live next door to the Great Barrier Reef the water close to land is crap. I have it a try and my corals browned out and withdrew their polyps so I stopped and all is back to normal I ran my last system for over a year with no water changes and it worked fine. Like I said don't crucify me it just works. I still dose the big three ca, alk and mag and some trace elements here and there

No slap happy here. What can I say, if it is not broke and things are living why try to brake it?
Have you ever tried to test the NSW with your own tank water?

Your other friend did a good job on the plumbing.
Do you keep that door open much? Provide real sunlight to the tank.

My 12yo sees pictures like that and wonders why he is not in any.

That creature is my 5yo daughter she can be a horrible creature to keep she cost more than the tank to keep but I wouldn't trade her for the world
She's my little side kick and loves helping with the tank.
I have tested the sea water to find out ways upsetting things but all checks out there is a massive coal terminal not far from the town I live wether that has anything to do with it.
The door stays open all the time it's just had to take photos

I love that you live near the Great Barrier Reef and have the ability to get the good water with the addition of the beautiful corals. Who am I kidding, I hate you guys(I was seriously kidding then). Tank build and your helper make a great team.

I really like the tank, but it seems like if you put in more rock then you could have a lot more corals?

Just leaving plenty of room for growth cost constraints and a lack of good quality live rock were I live is the key factor for not much rock. It may sound crazy but even though I live near the Great Barrier Reef it's hard to get any thing collected from there it all goes to every were but where it's collected
