would you have this lens if so what is your opinion on it ? I just might pull the trigger ..does anyone here have L-glass they would like to trade for vortechs or other reef equipment?
I've got the EF-S 17-55 f2.8 IS and am pretty happy with the IS and glass quality in it. I don't think I could justify the extra $600 for the 16-35. As my walkaround lens, I also appreciate the lighter weight.
But if I had a full-frame camera it would be a no brainer though (I use a 7D).
currently I have the 7D,and the 5DMKII, with the 85L mkII,and the 70-200 f/2.8mkii, I use the 24-105L for the most of the time walk around due to it being so darn light. I really want the 16-35L f2.8mkii for landscape..
I have seen some comparisons of that lens vs the 17-40 and the edges are better on the 16. On a crop factor it doesn't matter much. I have been happy with my 24-105. If I want really wide I have a 15mm Sigma. Usually when I shot that wide it's for Aurora so any edge softness that might exist is tolerable as they don't tend to be highly detailed images.
I have thought about the 16-35 but for me it doesnn't makes sense. I have read many times that it is an awesome lens though. If you get it lets us know what you think!
