165Gl to 1000Gl system upgrade (Long project)

this is one of the 2 columns I made to supply the closed loop pumps with water. I hope with the cup on the top and the holes beneath the cup I will be able to provide enough water to the pump without creating some sort of vortex.

and the putty that will be used to put life rock to the PVC pipe. stay tuned

and as I was working outside anyway I took a few pictures of the seahorse display outside
Looks wild and rugged but I am sure the seahorses (if the come) will love it in there. I know the only fish in it right now (spotted Mandarin) loves as it is full of pods

OK had the second DC12000 pump installed and have now my return running on 2 pumps rather then on 1 large pump (so goodbye Reeflo Barracuda now) The final idea would be to run one of the pumps run on a timer shutting down one pump throughout the night to have a slower return flow into the DT to maintain larger nutrition levels during the night when most coral feed. Most likely run them the same time periods with one of the 2 skimmer operational as also 1 skimmer shuts down throughout the night.

the PVC piping starts to look crowded now though lol

both pipes entering the house

resulting into 2 return pipes over the top

also started on the first drain pipe for the new closed loop set up.
The big cup is now down but will be the top of the structure.
I must say I hate this Epoxy as the slightest water on the rock (which it has a lot of) it does not stick to those rocks so it is painstakingly slow work.So don't let anyone tell you that this particular epoxy would work under water cause it sure wont.

also took some more pics of the seahorse display.
Am really happy with the look that came out of it. This Red Algae (Thank you again very much Mister Chingchai)grew real well and the wild look of the other algae in it looks real good and am sure my seahorses will love it.

ok both new drain pipes are installed. Had both platforms removed and lowered the legs of those and returned to the tank. They will not have any function anymore like before providing water to the closed loop pumps but are just decoration right now. See picture below of the new aqua scape that came out of the new installation.
water is still very unclear due to the work but hope this will clear up within the hour
the left side

the right side

on central with the 2 new drain pipes

and 2 more from the kitchen side

some update pictures
have a bit of a nitrate and phoshate spike which was understandable after taking out the rock glue it and ut it back
so a bit of a algae spike in the tank too. Not too worried though as it still seem in check.

3 of the 5 wave pumps came out o0f the vinegar bath over night
2 Jebao WP25 and one Tunze 6055
still looking good and working well after 1 year for the Jebao and 2 years service for the Tunze now.
regular cleaning of your equipment does pay off in the long run.
Had 2 more (the last ones) taken out when I returned these 3 to the setup so they will be clean by tomorrow and tank will be back into full wave mode almost. Still have to crawl under the tank to clean out the Oceans Motions after that.

Did you bring any cheese back with you?

No cheese but loads of Chocolate. Spend a lot of time in Belgium where I was born so had to bring chocolate for everyone in Thailand here.
Fun thing is its really really hot here right now so it will be chocolate sauce before they even open the pack.
