they are very peaceful fish for the most part so I would expect it to do fine. I would be prepared with a very large acclimation container and take it slow because of its size.

I also recommend releasing it into the display after lights out.

That is what I usually do. The fish isn't too big right now, so it should be just fine in a 5g bucket for a couple of hours while I move/acclimate it. I think the fish will do fine as well, for me I think the biggest thing to worry about for it will be feeding it.

I just realized that we haven't put any thought into, or planned for, an ATO. Oops... I need to get on that one. For now though we have a top off bucket and I'll be bringing my kalk. reactor online soon.

There is supposed to be a guy coming tonight to take my 28g long nano off my hands. With it he will be taking my 175w ballast which is on the tank now. Kevin is going to try to pick up the sump glass tonight, and tomorrow afternoon he will pick up the 250w components and will spend the evening building the ballasts.

So I have to decide what do I want tonight, and what do I want tomorrow; sump, or lighting. I kind of want lighting tonight.... anyone else want to weigh in?

Hope all goes well with the Vlamingi, Adding after lights out is a good choice. Dont want it getting beat up by the other Tangs.

If you want lighting tonight then go with lighting but it also depends on what you need. But if you're getting one tomorrow and one tonight then I dont think it matters which one you buy tonight. I'd go with lighting because I like opening boxes. :D

I'm going with a sump tonight, and lighting tomorrow. Lighting tomorrow, assuming the guy shows up to pick up the 28g. If not then we'll push the lighting off until Thursday.

Sump is on hold until Wednesday, Bow Valley Aquariums, is apparently now swamped with orders after Aquariums For You in NJ shut their doors last week. They will cut our glass for us to pick up on Wednesday, price to be decided that day too.

Kevin picked up two 250w ballasts. They cost $98 each, and we were a bit surprised. The last time we bought 250w ballasts they were $54 each, and that was less almost 8 months ago. Just one is wired up now, we need a second bulb before we can bring the other reflector online.

This is what happens every time I try to work, my computer grows a dog. This one suffers from Roll-Over syndrome. As soon as you reach your hand out to pet her, something causes her to become a limp noodle and to immediately show you her belly.

Sweet tank!

Got any pictures or videos of you kicking butt in roller-derby? I LOVED watching that, I'm so mad that its not on TV anymore.

I'll dig around and see what I can find. I don't have any myself, but I'm sure there is something kicking around somewhere. I haven't played that many bouts as I joined in January.

She knows it, and works it to her best advantage all the time. Yesterday she scammed a hot dog, today, I'm sure she is after the bacon.

I need to figure out what I want for a second 250w bulb. Anyone have suggestions? I want something with a hint of blue. I've been to sanjay's site, but since we aren't using any of the ballasts that they are available in the hobby, its hard to get an accurate reading on what may suit my needs.

I've also been sourcing out some SPS to add into my system. I've got a few great options to choose from and towards the end of this week, and early next week, I'll be checking them out. I think I want to start with some fast growers, birdsnest, maybe a digitata, a cap, and a stag. While I have a preference for particular morphs, I'll take what I can, and edit my collection later.

There are only 3 public vids...I sent out an email for any photos anyone has of the games that I'm skating in. I have some photos where I'm just sitting in the crowd, but they are unflattering.

we don't usually expect pics of roller derby chicks to be flattering. we DO expect to see some blood on those pads though!

I'll post up something once I've found photos to share. I have some lovely bruise photos in my collection so far, but I don't think thats what your looking for.

I want ponape birdsnest... oh yes and All Bran bars do taste great! I want some deepwater acros too...I think I need to stop looking at the SPS forum now.
