Its running via AC adapter, but it can run on a D battery. I calibrate once a test if I'm using it on a test by test basis. Otherwise when I run it constantly, I calibrate it once a week, when I clean my skimmer. It can measure high or low levels. American Marine doesn't manufacture it for continuous measurement specifically, but I emailed them and they said as long as its frequently calibrated it should be fine. Cost me $150 with the adapter.

The one that is pictured is about 4", the other two I got, but aren't pictured are ~6" and ~3" respectively. I'll have more photos to share tomorrow once the lights come on in the morning.
The new feeding schedule is working out well. I'm not seeing the interruption in grazing behavior that I was seeing before. They stop grazing maybe for an hour while they eat, then return to cleaning the tank.
Does anyone know a good tank-safe brand for silicone grease?

More nice measurements from yesterday
Remember those two bad acro crabs I took out of my colonies? Well they went into the pop bottle prison with another much larger acro crab that I caught in the move from the 28g to this system. The big crab actually ate the little ones, there are little crab pieces in the prison.
The last colony not pictured yesterday, the worm got on it, I'll be moving the colony.

Hahah, you must be sending subliminal signals to the naso tang. I was just watching it eat the snail! Crunch crunch crunch!
Today I'm trying to finish bumping up my dKH and Ca levels. Yesterday, they were still low, 6dKH, and 380 for Ca.. Reactors are frustrating to get set up, but great once they are running. I think I can safely say that Fauna Marin's Ultra-Mag has been doing its job. The magnesium levels, up until I ran out of test powder, have held nice and steady. I do like it quite a bit, and will probably continue to use it in my Ca. reactor.
Still looking for a reef safe silicone grease, anyone have any particular brands they use?
