Would that be enough for hard corals and clams?

Only If you plan on keeping them directly under the bulbs.

I think I would stay away from this fixture.

The PC bulbs are not the best to use for supplemental lighting.

Do you want to go with just 3 bulb MH or 3 MH with supplementation?

If just the 3 bulbs I would opt for the 400W. If using supplementation I would go with a 250W with a VHO or T-5.

I would also spend more on the reflectors and get a lumenbright or lumenarc depending on what you want for spread.

you should be able to get a good used one for about $100 or so and the difference in price should be made up in the amount of light it gets to corals and clams over the life of the reflector compared to the spider.

Well this project just hit a wall, turns out the wall is not supported in the basement. It's a bean that supports it, I would have to add a pole in the middle of someone else space.

Supposadly I would have to reinforce the wall under mine as well. So tear out a wall in someone elses condo.

I can't think of a way around this one.
