Got the canopy and the lights mounted. Got the pukani cooked and added to the tank. After 3-4 days in the tank phosphates are at 0.01. I removed all of the filters from the sump and started a fishless cycle with Dr. Tim's and ammonia. At 15hrs ammonia is at 0 I'm not sure I like the aquascape but it'll do for now.
Got the tank cycled and have a small diatom bloom. Got a small branching "hammer" coral (looks like a Frogspawn to me), and some king midas zoas in QT.
It's been a while since I've given an update, mostly because I'm taking it slow. I added a pair of clowns at the end of May and they are doing great. I've added about 40 various snails, ampipods, copopods, and a serpent star. I've QT and added a few more zoa frags- sunny d, bam bam, eagle eye, and maybe utter chaos it's to be determined. I also added a small frag of GSP. I've had a HUGE explosion of acetabularia that I'll blame on caribsea live sand. I'm just now getting into my GHA stage too, that I though I had skipped (no such luck, it's just going slow). I had to start dosing the tank (Reefgrow) due to the low levels i was getting with reef crystals. I added a phosban 150 reactor and some GFO yesterday. I also got an absolutely beautiful Blonde Naso Tang from Liveaquaria 3 weeks ago. She is about 5-6" and doing awesome in the 40g QT.
Nice Job! I also just picked up a used 180 and will be transferring everything from my 75 over. I can't recommend an Apex controller enough by far the best money that I have spent. BTW How do you like the sump and Mag 18 combo? That is what I have too!
Got the Blonde Naso added to the DT. The clowns were pretty freaked out. I woke up to find one clown in the overflow. I guess he got spooked during the night. I now have the clear screens back on the tank.
