To make long story short. My 180 mix reef crash after about 9 years due to some kind of disease and salt mix. So, it gave me reason to start fresh with building a fish room and some new equipments, so far so good after about 1.5 month. Big shout out to all my reef boys Ali at Amazing Aquarium in Orange (AKA the Reef Mamba), Albert the Time Warner guy (AKA the Perfectionist), Kelvin and last but not lease Matt the helper, for helping me with everything, couldn't of done it without you boys :). Here are some picture of before and after. Enjoy.

Tell me about the mod you made to your skimmer cup...
Looks like some tubing to keep the skimmate from clumping up...

Please advise.

Hi Lotus, it's a spray bar that my friend Albert came up with, it's on once every 2 days for 1 minute using a tunze pump to spray water around the cup for cleaning.

I may have to steal that idea. I have an extra aqualifter pump laying around that my apex could turn on and off every day to keep the cup cleaner?

What did you use for sprayers. Can you post some pics?

Basically, we just drill a couple of holes on the lid, put a couple bulkhead in the connected the tubbing. We used a needle to poke holes around the skimmer for the water to spray out, that's it. I don't think the qualifier have enough force to spray water out, the Tunze pump is perfect.

I may go a little bigger and get a small maxi-jet pump (really clean it out).
How many gallons per hour is your tunze pump?

it's the Tunze Osmolator Replacement Metering Pump, I am not sure how much does it pump, I don't want to spray too much, than I have to fill up my reservoir more frequently.

Here are some pictures of the pump

Both pumps in my reservoir, 1 for my top off, and the other for my skimmer washing
