Well its been a long time since my crash and ive redone alot! Thought id post and get everyones thoughts on my soon to be 180 gallon reef(my dream reef :clown:)

redid the rock work, had to relplum the entire tank due to the last person who did it for me did it 100% wrong....I have to thank Dreamingmel for redoing the plumbing the right time this way with NO leaks :love2:

Any suggestions or comments please let me know what i can do to make it better !

The return pump is a mag 9.5, the sump is an oceanic 30 gallon(thanks jdoenumber2). For flow i have two mag 4s a modded tunze 1045 and a modded maxijet2100 sureflow, i have another modded maxi but the flow is already crazy!

The lighting is 3x250 watt MH, the end bulbs are 12k and the middle is 14k. I also have 2x six foot VHO super atinics. I barley run those as i love the look of the just the MHs.

My skimmer is a Octopus-nw250 extreme with the stock pump.

Enjoy and ill be updating with pictures as i progress in the stages of building my dream reef!

Looks great. You should try the 12 hour cycle and add some tangs. They help alot.

pshhhh 12hour cycle is a thing of the past! i have a new super advanced way to cycle the tank in 13 minutes!!!!! Im going to add a morish idol tonight! :hammer::dance: LOL joe you always crack me up! haha

Whats the Pod looking rock you have in the tank? It is rock isn't it ;)? Looks great by the way.

Its baracle(sp?) rock. Its perfect for frags that are on plugs, you can stick the plug in them and it hides the plug!

Looks great although I really don't think the pics do the stack justice. So much more dimensional in person...

I would suggest getting an appropriate size block of wood or something under the return pump as that cloth just makes me nervous. You could use something like rubber drawer liner between the wood and pump to keep it quiet. JMO though. lol

And alas... every plumbing job I do has to have that one run of purple primer. Really. :D Looks like you did a great job gluing up the adjustments made for the replacement sump.

looking fantastic!

liking the rock scaping and the dimensional effect for the rocks being stack taller in the rear and shorter up front, much more pronouced in the middle where the two bridges connects to the front creates a rising slope, cant wait to see more of your progression :)

i would suggest to replace the rusted squeeze thing with a plasctic or simliar pvc pipe as you use on the left side :)

hmmm good idea mel! never thought of that and i actually have some left over from when we did our kitchen drawer with it!

And your right the pics dont show the depth of the stack but i love the way it came out

good idea, ill have to grab one from HD

Im not 100% sure on the stock list yet. I know for sure i want a Purple tang,Clown tang and marine betta. Also the Gf wants a pair of black clowns and nem so that will also be in there. Kat had a good idea to make a nice torch garden on one of the sides.

Im also gonna have a large zoa garden as well. Not sure if i want sps as to me they dont do much. I think im just gonna go with the flow and leave it up in the air. If i see something i like ill get it!

sounds nice. Take your time stocking it you'll appreciate it more....

Exactly, the last time with my other tanks i rushed everything, added as much as i could as fast i could and my tank never looked right to me. Ive calmed down alot and plan on taking my sweet time with this tank!

Phil....it's amazing. I have to agree with Mel...pics do not do this stack justice. Even without anything swimming around in there...it was still incredible to look at. Mel's plumbing jobs are fantastic...those are barnacles you guys are looking at, and they are real. This is going to be a showstopper for sure, Phil. And thanks for showing my painting...gotta get the others to you to fill in the hood.

very nice. Got any corallines in there?

Not yet Gary, Basically starting from new! All that is in there is new sand and dead live rock.

Many things get better with time, experience and maturity. None of us are perfect in this hobby as all have made mistakes but I for one cannot wait to see what this tank matures in to. :)
