180 Stocklist... help

I am in the process of setting up a 180g (6x2x2) mixed Angel-Trigger reef. I know most of you will say it will never work with the fish I keep/ want to keep because they "will eat my corals"... if it happens it happens. I'm more worried about the fish getting along then the coral anyways.

Here is what I have now in my 75g:

1- 5-6" Passer Angel
1- 3" Flame Angel
1- 4.5" Blue Throat Trigger
1- 4.5" Sargassum Trigger
1- 3" Yellow Tang
1- 1.5" Royal Gramma
1- 2" Occy Clown
1- 1.5" 3 Stripe Damsel
1- 1.5" Yellow tail Damsel
1- 3" Red Firefish
2- 1-1.5" Blue/ Green Chromis

Here is what I would like to add:

1- 7-8" Blue Face Angel
1- Juvi Emporer Angel
1- Juvi Queen Angel
1- 1" Flame Angel
2or 3 Multi-color/ venustus/ or Colini angels (depends on whats available when looking)
5- 1" Chromis
4- 1-3" Lyretail Anthias
1- 3"+ Blue Spot Jawfish

What do you guys think? Any other ideas?

How long have all of those fish been in a 75? Yikes. And I'm not a published author on stock lists...but that looks like waaaaay too many fish for a 300 let alone 180. Just my opinion and means nothing to most. Not only is the tank not big enough for all of those fish, it looks like UFC 78 on many fronts.

Your list seems a bit "chaotic" for me....A lot of really small fish with a lot of bruisers, IDK, that part might be interesting though.

I would say drop 2 of the angels from the list, 4 big boys is a bit much for a 180.

How long have all of those fish been in a 75? Yikes. And I'm not a published author on stock lists...but that looks like waaaaay too many fish for a 300 let alone 180. Most of my fish have been in the 75 for 7+ months. I added the Sargassum 4-5 months ago after having the BT for 4+. I just added the Yellow Tang about a month and a half ago. And the wife added the Royal Gramma, and 2 Chromis about 3 months ago.

I don't have much aggression even in the 75 with all these fish. When I add new fish, I do it with lights out and rearrange all the rock work to break up territories. In the 180 I will be doing this along with using a divider (especially when adding the large Blue Face).

I like mixing large and small fish because I love the large fish, but the action and small darts of color the smaller fish offer. To me it seems no odder then adding a frag into a tank with multiple colonies

You don't have any "fish eaters" there, so they are all probably safe, my Lime Green Wrasse or Male Crosshatch would vies a 1.5 inch Royal Gramma as a tasty "silverside", lol...Still think you should only go with 2 large angels though.

Lol, yeah my fish all "get along" enough I don't worry about any of them coming up missing from a tank mate. Although, my Sargassum actually got booted from a friends tank for being to aggressive towards his wrasses (came from an "under populated 150 to my 75... and aggression decreased imagine that lol).

Im planning to upgrade again in 1-2 years to a 300+ (would be doing it now but a 300 in an appartment and having to move it... no thanks lol). Anyways though, my list is just a what I'd like to keep (besides the ones I already have obviously). Not necessarily going to keep all the fish on my list, but I would definitely love to. I would like to be able to do 3 of the large angels though... the hard part is actually chosing which 3 lol. I'd gladly do 2 if I could find and afford a clarion/ passer hybrid

Why do you say between the Blue face and emporer? J/w because I would think most would actually say pick between the queen and passer ( as holacanthus sp. are supposed to be more aggressive then pomacanthus especially mixed together). + If I could get away with only not having 1 of the large angels that would be where my tough decision would fall, unless I can't find a queen I like lol

Well you might have issues with the two holacanthus too, but I just have more experience and have heard more about pomacanthus. I think the too pomas are also more closely related than the two holas you are looking at.

I do plan to upgrade to 300+ in 1.5-2 years (hopefully sooner, but I am realistic ), but thats not the reasoning for wanting these 2 as juvi's.... I say juvi because I want to watch the color change from juvi to adult I would have loved to get my passer and even the blue face as juvi's as well, but I got my passer for much less then I have seen any juvi's for locally (and less then half of the DD price lol). Also, I have a line on the Blue Face, from the same guy I got my passer from and it is considerably less then any BF I have ever seen at any just about any size (+I know it is amazingly healthy), because he knows I will love it and take as good of care of it as he did as we share the same love for large angels

Well you might have issues with the two holacanthus too, but I just have more experience and have heard more about pomacanthus. I think the too pomas are also more closely related than the two holas you are looking at.

Oh, ok. I was just wondering because I have heard/ and read through my research that the pomas are not as aggressive as the holas... with passers and queens being 2 of the more aggressive ones so you kinda threw me off there. Also, through my research I have noticed more poma's with other poma's then holas together... could just be coincidence though as well.

Other then mixing/ having so many large angels does anyone see a problem with anything else in my stock list?

While I'd love to have all 4 of the large angels, I may wait on the emporer until my next upgrade. But I think I am pretty set on the other three, unless anyone thinks clarions will come back down to the $300 or less they used to be... or clarion x passer hybrids will become readily available in that same range LOL!

As others have stated you have chosen four of the most pugnacious angels available and you still wont have enough tank in the long haul for any of these. A 180 IMO isnt big enough long term for most any Pomacanthus or Holacanthus, all of these fish top out at a foot or more in length and are big and aggressive with the exception of the majestic. I had an emp and a blueface in my 180 (not together) and in both instances each became very aggressive within a few years and needed to be removed.

The other thing is bioload and you will have an enormous amount if you add all of those fish. I have an angel, three tangs, two rabbitfish, and a half dozen smaller fish in my 180 and even with my filtration system I am pushing it.

I also see a lot of general compatability issues with this mix of fish and think many wont last long in the system.
