Picked up the tank yesterday. Built the stand tonight. Hopefully bring the tank from the garage down to basement tomorrow night.

What's keeping the legs from moving left to right? Are those screwed to a horizontal 2x4? I see the front is screwed to plywood. Just don't want your tank falling over when full of a thousand pounds of water.

2x4 16" centers. Top and bottom plates.
2x4 stringers. Two sheets of plywood for top and will wrap visqueen to protect the plywood. Eventually it will be a built in and that will be my wet bar wall.

The tank has a 2" drain on each side. Left side will drop down into my 60 galling look down and will have my skimmer in it. There is a a two inch drain in the bottom that will go to my sump.

The right side will drop in the cube you see with a dsb and a digest possibly that will dump into the other side of the sump

Lighting will be 2 maybe three 250 mh if needed.

I did very much the same but instead of visqueen I coated in a latex based paint. I did 2 coats and have had no issues. I'll see if I can get find a picture of ny stand but yours sounds stable. I was just worried when I didn't see anything to stabilize the bottom of the legs.

2x8s are recommended when spanning the entire 6 feet without additional support - he has 2x4 support every 1.5 feet.

I can't tell how the top is done but 2x8s would be overkill the way he has it supported.

True, he could get away with even a 2x4 top frame depending on how many vertical supports, but I dont see a top frame at all in the pics.

There is a 2x4 on top of the supports and then Two sheets of plywood on top of that based on his description.

He lives in Carpentersville.... That's gotta account for something lol

Always better safe than sorry though.

Frame is good, just need mire stringers after it is plumbed. Going to put four triple studs in the corners of the tank for more support. Hopefully this week, pick up the foam for under the tank and plumb everything up.

Two days and still filling up system with ro water. I am thinking two more days.

Best part is my wife said that the first new fish she wants to ad, just happens to be my favorite and we saw so many in fiji. Streamer, streamer, streamer naso.
